all your prayers worked! he survived the surgery, though his kidneys are not well, and he has swallowing problems. But I've got a Zenkers Diverticulum (cannot find a surgeon who takes my insurance in Houston) so I told them to do an EGD and a barium swallow to see whats up. Now its 4 weeks of rehab in the hospital for the crushed/shattered hip they replaced. Thank you all very, very much. I know God was listening to you.

prayers needed ya'll. My dad fell today at a Dr.'s office parking lot and his hip shattered. its compressed. He had a quad bypass in 95, and at the Spring N4M get-together, he couldn't walk 50 feet without stopping to catch his breath. My brother said he flatlined tonight for 10 sec., but he has to have surgery tomorrow and they don't know if he'll make it through the surgery, but he can't NOT have the surgery, he's in so much pain and its totally shattered. But my mom can't be alone, her sugar sometimes drops to 50 or so and is so disoriented, dad has to get her OJ, so I'm going tomorrow morning. Have 2 days off. Guess we'll take shifts, 2 days, 3 days, 2 days.

Cheri, so so sorry about your dad. I've been dealing with pressing issues with my folks (my dad is 87) and watching their mental health decline is as sad as the physical. Kathleen could speak to that I'm sure. I just try to make sure they have food in the freezer to micro - so nobody burns the house down!
I don't know what to say to make it easier, but we all sure have you in our thoughts and prayers. Very sad indeed.
