Yeah Molly, that WAS a funny story when he checked in. I felt silly "What do you mean you were the card holder?" But he was able to confirm, thats all that matters!
I just wanted to post again to welcome Elaine. Looking forward to hearing more about C. My son loves his job as an FC3 and would rather work than go into port. He loves Japan and loves his life aboard the Blue Ridge. I am fortunate to have been able to see his picture a few times, I get lonesome to see his face! He's always looking ahead to his future goals/career. We are proud of all our sailors!

Yes IT is Information Systems Technician is the official title. Katie has a 5 year commitment but has said she will be career. She has been in the Navy since March 2006 they will start talking to her this next year about Reenlisting.

Can't even imagine what it would cost to ship a piano to Japan, or the bass for that matter. We had to pay for two seats on the plane for the bass (not including Chelsea's ticket) for her to fly it back to school after we got it for her one Christmas. Looks like they will both be staying put for the next five years.

Just out of curiosity - what kind of commitments do your kids have with the Navy? Chelsea has a five year commitment for going to USNA. She has no idea if this will be a career yet.
