I just got the same email navynana. I'm wondering if the ships internet is down. Or they turned it off for some reason.

Has anyone tried to send an email to their sailor? A friend just told me that a message popped up saying they couldn't deliver the message and would hold it for2 weeks. (mail.fleet.navy. mil) Not sure how the communications work. Just trying to understand how this all works.

Hi 2 in the service.  Thank you for sharing your beautiful experience. I wish we had known about the send off party. What a wonderful way to say good bye to all of our sailors. Today emotions are hard to manage.

2 in the service, thank you for your description! I can honestly say I have full on tears right now. It makes me proud that so many people showed their love for our sailors. My hubby is on the Comstock. We miss him so much. The past few days have been very emotional as I'm sure they have been for all of you. I just bawled like a baby last night listening to our 5 year old playing in the bath, fighting those pirates and of course Daddy wins! God bless the brave men and women on the Boxer, Green Bay as well as the Comstock.

My son is and HT..  He has his days of liking/disliking..but since he just reenlisted I guess he's not hating it too badly.

Yes I would like very much to be "kept up to date" with this cruise.  The last one the info was let's just say "spotty".    One thing I've been warned about is that specific dates and locations is expressly forbidden to be discussed on this public site.  Private emails/messages to individuals is another story.

@kab...pkgs.  take entirely too long to get to them.  3 wks was an average for my son  even in port it took alot longer than it should of.   We get a small discount at the post office if you use the flat rate priority boxes there are 2 sizes that are discounted to FPO/APO addresses.

Its so nice to hear about all of the other sailors on board the Comstock. May God bless them and keep them safe. Meanwhile, I'm so happy to be a part of this group, its very comforting.

Welcome Elane. So glad you can join us. I think this is going to be such a great group. What is your sons job? How does he like being on the Comstock? As you can see this deployment brings us all together.

My only son has been on the USS Comstock for a few years.  Glad someone started a group for the relatives of sailors on the ship.   I tried awhile back and found a few other Moms.   There is a group for the ship on Facebook as well, and on Big Tent but I don't see postings often from either site.  Thanks to whom ever started this group.

Thanks so much for the picture of the Comstock pulling out thru the Bay. I must admit it brought tears to my eyes. Would also like pictures e mailed to me so I can share with family - let me know how to do that. My LO's sister has already started writing letters and I am collecting his favorite treats to mail shortly. Any ideas how long regular letters/small envelopes take to get to the ships?  Safe sailing to the Comstock
