How did you address packages sent to your son?

Good afternoon ladies. Well, I must say that today was a wonderful experience for us. We were not able to get on base to see the Comstock pull out, but had a spectacular view as it sailed passed us at Point Loma! There were three other ships as well. My grandson sent a text to his mom saying to look for the bell because he just polished it! It is such a touching experience full of pride. I sent extra kisses and prayers to all our sailors. It was such a warm beautiful day in San Diego just for them as their ship sailed out of the harbor. Now we look forward to their safe return. They all go with full hearts knowing how much they are loved and missed. My daughter will email me the picture and I will get it to all of you.

Thanks so much for your words of wisdom. Glad to know you are with your family during this time. A 5 year old will certainly keep you busy. We try to look ahead to when they return. Yes, faith will get us through. I may have some questions about mailing packages soon. How long has your hubby been in the Navy? Looks like you have figured out the way to do it right. All my best.

I will do my best at helping! I would love to see a picture of them all from point loma! I am not in california. I am in washington state. Our 5year old and I are back in our hometown. We said our "see you soons" about a week ago. I'm sure he is nervous, but we need to remember they are all highly trained and the Navy wouldn't put them out there if they weren't ready! Faith will get us all through!

I am honored and I will do it with pride for all our sailors. We will leave the base and go to Point Loma at the Cabrillo National Monument. From that view I am told is a spectacular view of the ships leaving the harbor. They will all be on deck to bid farewell. I will capture that moment for all of us. I am happy to hear that your hubby is calm. My grandson has only been in the Navy for a year so he has been pretty nervous about this deployment. We will need you to help us through this experience. Hope you don't mind. Are you in California?

Please see the ship off and blow an extra kiss for me! We will miss our sailor like crazy as I'm sure you will miss yours as well. He is my rock, however now its my turn to be his. We all need plenty or prayers! I agree emotions are very high! When I talked to my hubby a little while ago he seemed very calm and ready to get this job done. I am eternally grateful for all of these brave men and women and am honored to call one my husband.

Hello All, last night drove to San Diego to take our sailor back to the ship. Got home at 3 am this morning. Emotions are running high. His Mom cried most of the way home. We are going back down tomorrow to see the ship off. What a special moment that will be. The weather is beautiful here in California. We are exhausted but will have time to recover after he is gone. We won't be able to see him but he'll know we are there. Will send all our prayers with all of our sailors. Will check in again to give you the update. Hello BM3Simswife.

That's the day I am looking forward to also! One of the happiest days of my life when this deployment(the last one for us) is OVER! What does your son do on the ship?

My husband is on the USS Comstock, tomorrow will be a tough day. But the longer we wait the sweeter the hugs and kisses will be when he is safely in our arms again! They are all heros!

Hi..thought I'd jump on here and say Hi. I mentioned Bridgette to my grandson and he said he thinks he has seen her but didn't know exactly what to say to her. He asked if she was tall and I said yes. So I guess they are in the same area. Sorry to hear that things are not going well for her. At first it's a hard adjustment for most. I'm sure it's tough on her knowing her hubby is headed for boot camp soon and she's shipping out. They are young and this is quite a different experience...one they didn't expect when thye joined. I always say...what did you think this was going to be a cruise ship??? ha ha take care and good to hear from you.
