The crystals that I have found and planning to use are called "soil moist"  I got mine at Kmart in there garden supply area.

they are crystals that are quite tiny...  swell up 3-4x their size when you had water to them and then as they dry they add the water to the neck to cool off or into the soil to keep plants moist as they are originally made for .

Only need 1 tsp per cooler   (1/4tsp  in each of 4 pockets)  and please make sure they do not have any sort of fertilizer in them.   just plain crystals.

The "shoe box auction" items are the ones the Family Readiness Group (FRG) wants mailed no later than June 25th and they would like us to let them know when we send them via email reply to them.  So they can track them...they are going to the QM1....

The neck coolers do not have a deadline, but should be as soon as possible as it is to help them cool off on the deck, etc, in the hot area they are rumored to be in.  The CMC would like them in dark blue and wants them sent to him.   If you need more info please private message me I will send the details.

your sailor has to put you on the list. We get the monthly newsletters also and the FRG updates. Have him send an email to  them.

Hi everyone -- greetings from SE Michigan -- Hope everyone is doing well with LO's on the cruise. I'm hoping the 'cooler' weather continues here in MI for a few more days so I can get some much needed yard/and deck work done. Just can't do it when it's above 90 degrees -

Am still 'collecting' and putting together some boxes for the auction - I hope the entire crew enjoys the fundraiser.  Has anyone heard of a time frame that they want the neck coolers sent to ship? I have to see if I can squeeze making some in between working and everything else. Take care --

Elane, maybe Paymaster on the GreenBay can help with advice since they did the pillow cases. She organized the project.
