It is disappointing but necessary.  Now to deal with the air lines and/or insurance company.  My problem is that, unlike Sue, the flight has not been canceled ... yet.  But there are some things to pull out of the hat yet.  For example, because I have to have CT scans done ... too frequently ... getting the doctor to order me not to go because of potential of radiation exposure.  The Navy just ordered the sailors at Atsugi to stay inside because of potential radiation exposure.  This was posted on FB by both my g'daughter and her BF and they are in two different locations.

I wonder of the CO of Atsugi/Yokosuka would provide letters like they do when there is a change of port of call.  I think I will e-mail the Ombudsman.

After weighing all the information, I have decided to cancel my trip to Japan. :-(

Well ladies, my flight is still on go, so I will leave tomorrow.  My concern is the nuclear power plants status.  I hope I have myself together, have tried to cover my bases.  Sue, I have Patrick's number, will try and meet him.  Kathy and Dori, I hope we can all meet up somewhere.  Sue, I wish I could take you with me.  I am excited but somber at the same time about going. Ladies, wish me luck and say a prayer!

The Narita Airport said this morning that the trains are running again.

Navy Ma, my G'daughter said many on leave to the US were stranded because of snow storms. She said the biggest thing is to call the unit and tell them what is happening.

So glad to hear that everyone's loved ones are safe and so sad to hear about trips to see your children having to be cancelled.  That was the first thing I thought of when the quake hit was how many of you moms would miss your trip to see your kids.  My heart is with you.  I was actually chatting on Facebook last night when the aftershocks started hitting.  Zach said it was crazy for a while, but everyone seemed to make it through with no real problems.  I was so grateful he was online and I didn't have to wait to hear something about his safety.  Love goes out to the people of Japan, such devistation.  They will surely all need our prayers and support.  Thanks to all you other moms for the updates on your children.

Kathy, That is what I am wondering.  Even if able to fly out on a delayed flight, will our sailors be available to visit anyway.  And do not want to stress my son if he needs to focus on job and then worry about me being there.  My heart just sinks for Sue as it is a definite on her flight being cancelled. I read that through the 15th, I believe, fee waiver for change of flights and also refunds for cancellations.  That would make you think anticipating through that date until flights back on regular basis.

Well ladies, I just feel like I am on standby.  Nothing definite from airlines for me yet.  Sent email to my son, no reply yet.
