Thats sooo awesome Lauri...Glad to hear you had a nice conversation and a long one too.  Can't wait till I get a turn...hahaha.

Not for nothing but since this weekend....I have this feeling my daughter will call soon too.  Especially since in one of her emails she asked if her cell phone still had international calling.  Everytime the phone rings i have to answer, and now that you got a call, I'll be jumping at each phone call even more.....I think soon a lot of us will be getting calls soon....at least I'm hoping we do!!!! :-)

Thanks for sharing....I'm so happy for you!!!

The phone rang this morning and it said unknown caller.  I almost didn't pick up but decided to at the last minute.  Wow, I am glad I did because on the other end was my Sailor!!!!!!!  Can't begin to express my joy right now after a 40 minute talk with him.

Well with all the hassle i had at the post office...and yes it was the post office:-)

I was happy and relieved that my daughter recieved two of the four boxes i sent out several weeks ago.  The last two boxes i sent are for her Birthday.  One box was filled with cupcakes, candles, small cake plates, napkins, party horns and blowers and also some happy birthday decorations.  I dont really expect her to decorate and stuff but this is the first birthday she wont be home for and I just wanted her to know we love her......I am hoping she can arrange the cupcakes in the number 19, put candles on them and hopefully someone can take a pic so i can have it for my scrapbook....but if not at least she can have some kind of birthday celebration and at least she and some other shipmates of hers will enjoy the cupcakes!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well....I did recieve some pictures of my daughter this week too.  She looks so happy and looks like she is really working hard too!!

Have a great day!!!!

On Mother's Day (HIS time, Saturday for me) I missed a satellite phone call from my USMC son on the Green Bay--waaaaaaah!  :*-(   But he did leave a vm on my cell so now I can listen to his voice repeatedly.  Then he called and talked with his dad (we were apart...he was resting up in the hotel and I was out taking pictures as we were leaving Maui the next day.  Had left my cell in car while I jumped out to take the shots.  Bummer.)

We had to fly into Honolulu before catching the next plane for Seattle and as we flew over Pearl City it was like my heart reached out to touch the closest place my son had last been.  Sigh.  Around on the other side of the world is so far away.  But, along with with your sons and daughters (and husbands), I am so proud of him!  They are all wonderful young men and women.

I got an e-mail on Mothers day, so that made my day.

Also got to spend the weekend with the grandchildren.  Never a dull minute with the three of them.

Came back to work to recover:)
