Yeepie!  The boxes arrived.  They will  have to figure out what day is best to hand out all the Pillowcases.  Hope someone takes pictures.  I feel so good that the pillowcases make it.  Its a relief knowing they are there.

Haven't heard from the son since the mail arrived so I don't know if the PC' got there or not.  If I hear something I will let you all know.

There are no stupid questions here, we all had to learn from someone else.

I send books, magazines, nuts, gum, candy.  Once in awhile I send a DVD or a small game.  You know what your children like so anything goes.  I would caution you about sending home baked goods, since it takes so long to get mail I would avoid sending anything that is baked with eggs or milk as it spoils and could cause illness if eaten.

Also if you have a girl you may want to include a new undergarment now and then or any special product she like to use.

This is my first deployment also but I sent things like bagged candy, Canned nuts, Pringles, Beef Jerky and Slim Jims, Pop-Tarts and what ever I thought would travel well and hold up under alot of heat.  I sent homemade cookies too but did not realize it would take 3 weeks to arrive so I won't do that again.

In my next box I am including his DVD's, a gun magazine (my son is a GM) , a couple books, some small tobasco type stuff and antacid, cough drops, breathe mints, etc....  Hope that helps.
