FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Glad to know that you are getting e-mails from the ship!

Mary would you mind sharing the dates you got? Until our son gets to the ship we are kind of flying blind.

Our son leave Afghanistand in 2 days!!! Were so excited to just be able to talk with him without worrying about what we say and can talk for as long as we want!

Mary....Do you know the nane of the carrier you use? Would you recommend who you used?

I am hearing that they will be going out in the next couple of months.

Karen....Thanks for the note. We are just hearing different things.

Have you ever had to ship a car by carrier before? My son need to ship is non working Jeep home and needs to find a carrier to move it.

Karen, Kim and Mary.....Its been awhile since we have chatted.

We have heard from our son and he has his orders to report to the ship. He leaves Afghanistan the end of next week, and will be stateside soon after that.

He mentioned that they maybe going out soon, any word on that?

Karen.....Welcome to the group. My son will be joining the shop later in August. He is coming of an IA deployment to Afghanistan.

What does you son do on the ship? Have you been to visit him in SD?

So what have they been doing on the ship? Have they taken her out at all?

I am sure their big cruise won't take place untio 2010?
