My daughter is onboard the ship what is going on are they in a dangerous situation?
Where should I go to hear news?
my son called 2 days ago and said they'll be docking soon. he called me yesterday, he sounded real good on the phone..but sailortatorsmom......situation,latest news? also he e-mailed me last night and we're joking about his daughter(who won the presidents academic award this year,:) and has now been to her first concert with her friends carrying her very own first cell phone:) and his son winning 1st and 2nd place iin martial arts just as my navy son won 2 leadership awards. congratulations to the other navy mom whose son won the leadership award also! Proud to be an american!
Hi, I am new to this site. My son is on the HST and I am sending some boxes off today but I am not sure of his rank to I need to have that on his box to make sure it gets to him? I do know his department but the rank has changed since deployment. Please anyone with info please reply.
Hi Laura, Rank isn't needed. If that were the case my son wouldn't have recieved anything on his last two deployments. And unless it's a letter, all boxes/packages need a customs form.
I spoke with the norfolk naval base the other day and was told
rate and rank last and first name
uss harry s truman cvn75
box #
fpo- ae 09524 was told no need for zipcode that this is the official address for the ship...may have to fill out custom forms though
The post office clerks are very nice (at least here in Miami) when you send stuff to Military addresses, they will help you with the forms and instructions.....I suggest you use the post office boxes they have (for free) and take a few customs forms home so the next box you send, you don't have to do all that at the post office,I always pay something like $10.00 to ship, even heavy ones.....
hi ive been a navy mom for over 21years. my son has made this his career. he's on the harry s truman now and was the first to deploy on 911 with the uss theodore roosevelt. about the priorty packages from us post office. you can call the usp and have them send free boxes(diff sizes) including the tape and the paper custom forms with the plastic sleeves. they will give you an id# for future shipments. i wonder why the clerks didn't inform me of this free service for the military famlies? i have shipped big boxes of chips $ 30 which my son took to an african orphange and passed them out to the kids :) boxes of plastic 16oz's faygo pops which are made only here in michigan. or course you can go online for the info of the priorty box kits. God Bless You All. but remember navy moms. they have very little space for their personal stuff, and remember we shouldn't send items that are not biogradable while they are on the water. Take Care. And God Bless America! (lady d)
Thank you so much Lady D for sharing this with us.....I actually asked at the post office for the tape (I pick up boxes/customs forms and labels each time I go,but they never told me about the tape....that is really good to know :)
Yes,it is
Name of your Seman
USS Harry S Truman CVN 75
Box 13 FPO AE 09524
I don't think the address to the ship is against OPSEC. It's posted on the Trumans Official website page. It's a post office address and all packages only go as far as New York. From there the Navy takes care of them so that no one knows the location of any ship.
