Hello,
I'm new to the USS Makin Island my son is a Gunners Mate and has been there since May of this year. This is all a first for me and my family and although very proud of our son, we are also very nervous about the upcoming deployment.

Hello all! My daughter will soon be aboard with your sailors! She just came home on leave after fininshing A school. I am excited to learn about this next phase. She is a GSM (will work on the gas turbines). I am especially happy to know she will be stationed in San Diego as my parents and other family members live nearby. I have a little peace of mind knowing there is support and a place for her to stay on days off!
