Hi all, Today is Chrissy's 30th Birthday. I have been a Navy Mom for almost 6 years. Missing birthdays and holidays is still hard. She had to work today but her shipmates did some nice things for her when she got off duty.

Hi Sylvia - nice to see you on here too!  glad that your son is feeling less discouraged - I do think being able to leave the ship helps a lot.  I wish the FRG did more, too, but am hoping that as we close in on a deployment date we'll hear more. ;-D

eeyoregirl ship 14 div 031 - once I made the request to add, it took quite a while for it to happen - if it helps, the group administrator is Robert Seipp whom you may be able to reach via facebook -  I don't know the  name of the omsbudsman though - the FRG page and the closed group page on facebook are not at all active - I think I've met maybe 3 other McFaul moms so far, and those through the Navy Moms of Norfolk page - if I learn anythingmore I will post.  I've been told that as the ship gets closer to its deployment date, we'll get more contact/information.  Sure hope this is the case!  How is your son liking the McFaul?  Mine loves the Navy and loves his work; he's been there almost a year now.  best to you and your sailor!

Hi There TwoForTheNavy ! My son is on this ship. boarded in February 2013.  It's a great ship with a lot of young sailors on it. I know that deployment is coming real soon.
