HI my daughter will be serving on the McFaul soon and I'm wondering if there is any current news on this Destroyer.

Hi all,

my son has been on the McFaul since October; the McFaul FB page is pretty inactive and mostly has postings from people who have served on it - it's not much of a family page; the FRG hasn't  yet responded to my request to join and it's been months - the word from a wife of a sailor on the McFaul was that the FRG wasn't very active or responsive; there are a number of McFaul moms on the Norfolk Moms FB page and we try to keep up with one another there - we've discussed putting together a separate McFaul moms FB page but haven't moved on that yet - you can always contact me for information - PM me on FB, Sarah Dangelantonio, and I'll tell you what I know :-D

Hi all, my daughter Chrissy recently joined this ship. She is an FC. Her first deployment was with the USS Donald Cook.

our sailor is on the McFaul - we're figuring things out as we go - do know how you feel about not knowing everything/enough - glad to share what we've learned so far (our son has been in Norfolk for about a month now)

Hello, My son boarded the USS McFaul 2-2013, just graduated BC 12-2012.  We are new to the military side of the world, as our son is the first in our family history to enlist.  We are very proud of him.  I feel like I'm in the dark most of the time, looking for others to share and comfort my worries with.  Thanks.

our son just finished at GL and reports to the McFaul in Norfolk in a couple of weeks - any information about what to expect when he arrives or what we can do before he flies down to make the transition go smoothly?  this is his first duty assignment as he just PIR'ed on 9/13/13 - thanks all!

I know you are glad to have him with you for a time! Congrats to him on his job change. May God bless your son as he takes on this new adventure! My son has completed those two deployments with yours and I think he is looking at other possibilities as his 6 years will be up in 2014. Please convey our family's gratitude to your son for his time on the McFaul and our continued gratitude for his service to our country.
