(( July 2010 )) not January anyway they didn't let him fly to the boat because they wanted to investigate and find out who stole his stuff,so he's been doing odd/ random jobs around base.

Ben never went to the boat( well not yet anyway )... The morning he was supposed to go he left 3 of his bags in the lobby to go check out and he came back 15 minutes and one of his bags was gone. He realized that was a mistake but he was upset because it had his laptop,2 zunes, and all of his certificuits and ribbons he had gotten from school and volunteer work!... He was most upset about the fact that one of jadrians( our son ) bibs were in there that he's had since he left for bootcamp in January 2010.... :(

Ben arrived in Mayport at 11pm last night and he called me today and told me that he didn't have to report to base for a few weeks so they told him he could come home then 15 minutes they told him they were going to fly him to the ship because he was needed :(

Thanks, Jo. You are right....I had them mixed up. He is on the carrier in VA. I just confirmed with him. So I will have to leave this group now and find the right one!
Thanks so much for pointing that out to me!

My son just got verbal orders today for this ship. Any info out there on it? He is still being held at Meridian hoping for written orders soon. Where are all of the moms whose son's/daughters are on this ship?
Jo, since your son has been on this ship for over 2 years, maybe you can enlighten us new moms? How long are they normally out for, where do they go, etc? Maybe some of that info is not to be posted?
