Laura, I joined, I didn't know people actually protested at funerals anymore, that is awful!!!  I went to several in the last two years, one being my father, the other a co-workers son.  The idea of seeing that is awful, there is nothing more moving than a military funeral.  Is this the 60's all over?  Where is the gratitude for those who serve?  I sent all of my friends an invite to join also.

I didnt attempt the tree. I put a small one up with my village, and I did hang our stockings on the mantle, but the big tree stayed in the attic. I just couldnt deal with it.

The Blue Candle, from what I have been told, burns for your sailor while he is at sea. It lights his way home. I always have it burning (while I am home and awake!) while he is at sea.

Lori - this is his first deployment as you know, and I was kinda hoping the next one would be easier. I guess having our boys at sea is never an easy task.

But we are here together, for each other, and together we will make it through this!

Huggs!

I know how you feel Laura!  I put the tree up, just can't bring myself to decorate it, and I usually do it right after Thanksgiving.  What is a blue candle?  I got the blue star flag but never heard of a blue candle.

Good Morning!  Super cold here this morning, low 30's. Thats bad for us down here in South Florida. Hope you all are doing okay.

I havent heard much from my sailor this week, he did tell me in his last email that he was beyond super busy but still positive and doing well. Thats good enough for me!

I have no holiday plans, doesnt really feel like it without him here (except for the super cold weather outside!!)  We are planning to go to the beach for Sunrise on Christmas morning...since he is at sea thats the closest place we can get to him. It will be beautiful and helps us feel close to him as we are water people.

I will have my blue candle burning until he gets back.

Hope you all have a good week!!!

:)  Laura.

Good Morning greatmommoo, my son also works midnights and is in the line shack. He got to the squadron in February, so this is our first deployment. I've gotten a few emails also, makes it seem like he's not so far......

Diania, my son is in the line shack, so I will ask him when I email him if he knows your daughter. He does know nalashome's son, they are friends.
Yes, I am working on the next box, toiletries and the like. I always try to put something fun in every box. I already mailed his holiday boxes, I am hoping to get this one out tomorrow, I have a few more things to pickup on my lunchhour today to finish it up.

Laura, my daughter is an AE but is so new she isn't working in the shop yet. She does know nalashome's son said she actually worked with him a couple of weeks before she was sent to the lineshack.
I understand about the packages, I sent 3 out Saturday. Kim left a list of things (shampoo, deoderant, ect.) for me to send her each month. I really don't know where she is gonna store everything!! I guess she can share anything she can't find room for. Have a great week everyone.

The weight limit is 70 pounds for the large APO/FPO flat rate box. I sent one to my sailor as well, it was 15.8 pounds....I have not had one over 16 pounds yet.
PM me your contact information - I'm on facebook as well!
