I think they normally take the swim test week 1 or 2. My SR took the test on Dec 18th. Those that do not pass are given additional instruction by highly qualified instructors. So even if you SR did not pass no worries!

Does anybody know what week they take the swim test? I haven't heard anything from my SR yet and I'm worried about the float. :}

I found Southwest to be more expensive for me coming from Washington. I got a great package deal on Expedia, flight, hotel and car for 3 at just under $1050.00. Even my friend who's a travel agent couldn't find a better deal then that. :)

My husband says it makes a big difference to the recruit's breathing and endurance during exercise depending on what kind of sea level change they go through coming to Chicago. When he went to basic in San Antonio, he came from spending his life in the mountains down to almost sea level. He said the air in TX was so heavy, he could hardly breathe. Took him a couple of weeks to get used to it.

Stress... and prayer.  He passed swimming, but not running.  But, he can do it!  I just bought my plane ticket and cannot wait to see him!!

There are three PFA's...so three chances to pass..they must pass the last one in order to go on to Battlestations (as long as everything else is passed too.) If not then yes they go into FIT...where they will work with them to get them to pass.

FTLW- I know It kinda did suck but was really happy to know that he passed his test. :)

 Angelwetz- Thank you, about ur question I was told they do get a second chance at the end of boot camp, I wouldn't really know exactly but was told that if they dont pass it at the end it can cost them to get held back from PIR

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on December 28, 2011 at 5:02pm
Oh Noemi! Glad he passed and sorry he got yelled at for throwing up! So hard when you have the crud and then all the drainage...plus your just not getting as much oxygen when you are sick...then you run and your body is pulling for it...nausea for sure. But he PASSED...so he probably won't care later! I remember when my husband was going through the police academy...they used to feed them lunch and then go on their run! Throwing up was inevitable! Yuck!

Noemi - so happy for you!  i wonder if they didn't pass, do they only get one more change to pass?  how does that work....

Comment by Noemi(Ship 12, DIV 054)Colin<3 on December 28, 2011 at 4:53pm

My Fiance Passe his swimming test as well. And the Running too but at the end, ended up throwing up and they yelled at him for doing it. Since he is sick I understood and was a lil sad to hear he got yelled at. But glad he passed both Test :)
