Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by diannep on December 25, 2011 at 10:51am: Merry Christmas, all! This time two years ago, my sailor was at bootcamp too. Hard Christmas with just my older son and me by the tree. I couldn't even record it...something we did every year. But we have been blessed to have our sailor with us the past 2 Christmases, so blessings to you in the future--with hopefully your sailor home for Christmas!

My son received a long and emotional hug last night at Christmas service from a teacher/mentor of his (high school). She couldn't let go of him and was crying. Because...her only son just deployed to Afghanistan (Army officer) 2 mos ago...for the first time. He is the same age as my son...they know each other...and I have no doubt that the long emotional hug for my son was for her son too. A very touching time!
