...white squirrels....interesting!  Post a pik, Lala!  I think you may have done that a long time ago on another group?  Can't remember...but I bet they are beautiful!

I'm sure the photo will be fine. I didn't think they would be allowed to have them either. But I guess the RDC asked them about unique things about where the recruits live and my Sailor told him we have white squirrels here and he didn't believe her lol. So he said to get a pic from home lol and I sent it and several others for her to have.

KidsLuv - I have not received the first letter but my SR wrote a nice note on the back of his PIR letter.

@HK, sounds like a plan! :) SC is going to be a fun time. :)

@Diannep in his letter thats what he said, he could have been mis-informed. But we'll find out once we get there.

I want to caution all to be careful how much detail you disclose from your SR's letter/calls.  I haven't seen anyone go too far here yet, but on another PIR group, a lady was much too detailed, even giving her son's nickname after describing things about the RDCs that should not have been mentioned.  So to talk about flags they earned, awards they earned, liking the food, what activity they do next, etc...that is all fine.  But please be careful in passing on opinions that your SR may have disclosed that may be of a negative nature...this can cause problems for your SR and his/her entire division.  Best to remain vague in your posts and non-specific!  In the discussion groups also.  Private message between each other if you want to share details.

Trisha:  Are you sure that their flights actually leave at 3 a.m. or could he be referring to when they get bussed from RTC? They bus them all out in the wee hours of Sat.morning to wait for flights.  He should have his flight times by PIR so hopefully, he is flying out a little later and you can have airport time with him at the gate (with a gate pass).

eljac:  Too funny on the pic!  I bet it will be ok.

I think sending the RDCs Christmas cards is a wonderful thing...just sign it:  A SR's Mom/Wife/GF, etc.  Don't think I would use first names.  Don't want to be accused of "brown nosing!"  HA! But I know they would appreciate the cards!
