Good idea Diannep, I can't imagine not getting any mail. That breaks my heart!

Thats a great idea Diannep. :) i'll be sure to ask in the letter I send out tomorrow morning.

Ladies, be writing your SRs and asking if any of their shipmates are not receiving any mail.  If they aren't, your SR can give you the name and you can post on this page that you have a name for others to write to.  We can't post the last name on this page, but you can private message it to people who ask.  Can you imagine going through bootcamp with NO MAIL?  That is their contact with the "outside world" as my son said when there.  I have done this over the past 2 years and I can tell you, they are so appreciative and many write back.  So consider doing this!

Morning All! <3 Crossing my fingers everyone gets a letter today! :)

Comment by diannep on December 16, 2011 at 9:02am

Noemi:  The letters with the wrong number in the address may just get to him...let's hope for an understanding mail processor!  And I agree with FTLW, some RDCs don't care about colored envelopes.  Believe me...most of them will tell you they would rather get mail with IT than no mail....so no worries!

Yep, winterrosebud:  That is what we preach on here...scan the photos into the letters!

Good morning, everyone!  This PIR group is up to 51 people!  YAH!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on December 16, 2011 at 9:00am

I just can't understand why they would be giving them grief over the color of an envelope. If they are they must really be grasping at straws to find something to hassle them about. I know I have heard that someone got grief over a colored envelope but I asked both my Sailors and they thought I was crazy lol. They said no one cared what color the envelope was so I wouldn't worry about it. I sent all my letters in colored envelopes. They were colored like the American flag and I sent lots of cards in all different colors. I wish everyone would ask their recruits if colored envelopes have been a problem in their division and let us know.

Got my first letter from my SR today! He said cards are fine but to only send photos that are pasted into letters since they have limited room. My sister accidently sent a colored envelope with drawings on it and thank goodness my SR didn't get in trouble. :)

I hope so, Ive been betting my self up. First I messed up on the address by one number so I have to wait for the rest to get back so I can re send them. And know i messed up on the xmas card. I feel like everything is falling apart.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on December 16, 2011 at 1:30am

Try not to worry to much Noemi, K? It'll be okay...

It's kinda hard to find Christams Cards that AREN'T colored these days! I can remember when I used to have to hunt for them...actually almost any card...they all seem to have colored envelopes...now we have to hunt for the white envelopes. I even went so far as to purchase a box of greeting card sized white ones to change them out!
