Good Morning, Ladies and welcome to the Navy mom/gf/wife world. I'm Betsy and another veteran on here as well. The veterans on here are a wealth of important information that will help you get through this stage of your sailor's new journey. We will share your smiles, tears or be there if you just need a shoulder, we are all here to help with those.
I have been on N4M's for about a year and a half now, as I joined the N4M's group about 6 months before my youngest son went into BC. He graduated from BC on Dec. 17, 2010 and is now finished A school and holding for Orders in Pensacola. We also have a future son in law in the Navy who is on a nuke sub in Hawaii.
navymom88, FTLW, suggestion of adding her as an administrator is a good idea. There may a time when you aren't able to be on the site and it is a good idea to have at least one or two other people who can change or add things if necessary. You could add diannep or me also if you'd like.
I agree with FTLW. If you received the form letter, that info should be the accurate info. Welcome to everyone! I also am a N4Moms veteran...been on here for 2 yrs now. My son PIRed in Feb 2010. I am part of a team of N4Moms veterans on the PIR groups to help you all through!
FTLW may CALL herself a "jr" veteran....but she certainly is not! HA! She is our "newest" veteran to help out on the sites, but as you will see, she has jumped in with both feet and is full of wonderful info. Helps too that her hubby is in the AF Reserves and has been deployed several times. Betsy, another veteran (with her cute collie pik!) is on here now, and hopefully Sandy will join later. We are missing our beloved Jessica who has been on the site since before I was...but who between work and computer problems, hasn't been on so much. Hoping that she joins us now!
The most divisions I have seen in a PIR group since being on is 13...but whose to say that they can't have more? But I think the PIR Hall would be "busting at the seams" with extra divisions beyond that. Over the summer, the PIR groups were larger...but now, most seem to be more on the small side. But again...that can change! So we will wait to see if your group is posted today on the RTC site with the divisions included.
Welcome to all! Please ask any questions that you have. FTLW will be posting lots of info in the discussions soon, and I will be posting my BattleStations info. That is their final test...they graduate in a capping ceremony and are sailors after that.
Good morning!
The form letter is usually the most accurate confirmation of info! RTC, (Recruit Training Command), will post the confirmed TG, (Training Group) on Monday. Once it is confirmed I will add that to the title of the group.
The TG is compiled of all the Divisions within it...as low as 4 and have seen up to 15 (?) can be larger...Each Division starts out with approx 88 recruits.
I did receive the form letter that said he was in div 911 and would be graduating on 2/3/12. I hope that isn't true about skipping it?
Annie - Have you received your form letter or did you get your info from the recruiter? One mom said that they were going to skip 911 but I have seen it twice so far.
I know his PIR is 2/3/12 and excited that he is in div 911. I will have to look for him on graduations prior to see if I can see him. Can't wait to here from him!
Welcome to five more new members!
Hello!
FireTeamLeaderWife here!
My Sailor PIR’d on 05/26/2011.
So I am a “junior vet”, (don’t know how much longer I can claim that – only when I mess up, huh!) as I have only been on the site for about six months since our son’s PIR.
I will check in here once and awhile to see if I can answer any questions and lend some support. There will be a few other veteran moms along to lend a hand and support you all through your PIR experience. diannep, LaLa Ribbon Queen, Betsy, momofPensacolesailor, Sandy’s Sailor son, and possibly JessicaBSailormom. We have a few others that help out when we have SPECOPS in the groups, sjtina and skyler to name a couple. Others drop in occasionally too…plus we are always looking for more to “join the ranks”. Things change in the military and we like to give out the most current info that we can so moms that have just gone through this help a lot.
I’ll also be loading up the discussion Forum area with lots of info to help you along during your PIR experience. Please feel free to add your own discussions and start your divisional discussions.
Welcome to all the new members!
Hi everyone, my son is PIR 2/3 also. He shipped out on Dec 1. Happy to have this information.
