For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Washington is beautiful and Bremerton is a very nice base with lots of stuff to do and is close enough to Seattle to take the ferry over and see the sights. I think if i remember right that the Stennis should be coming home soon. :) Hopefully you'll get to see him before he fly's out to his duty station.

I have heard you can bring a laptop and phone to the airport to give to your SR. My question is does the laptop have to be in a bag and if so does it matter what kind? Obviously keeping with in "carry on" rules. :)

Comment by navymom88 (02/Div911) on January 19, 2012 at 3:39pm: I went to the mailbox and I got a letter!!! my SR said he received so much mail from home over the last few days that he had not gotten because they hold their mail it took him 3 days just to read it. he is very excited to see all of us and really didn't give much detail about anything else. he did tell his step dad that he is the best thing that has ever happened to him and thank him for being his dad..WOW
