Hi ladies! I got some news yesterday that I want to share. My son was given his verbal Orders yesterday. He has to get checked out by medical and dental first, then they will give him written Orders. He will be going to the CVN 74 John C. Stennis out of Bremerton, Washington. I was feeling kinda numb yesterday so I didn't get on here. The Stennis is on deployment currently so we don't know any details yet, but we are hoping that he can come home before he leaves
winterrosebud, yes!! i am staying at Springhill Suites, but i think they are really close to each other. Sarge will surely hook us up :) Send me your email and we can set it up. thank you! btw: how early?
Camo Mom: Not sure what division your son is in, but Gayle's division will be the last to finish training (they go in numerical order.) It is possible that the earlier divisions are on Training Day 5-3 or 5-4. They do BattleStations at the end of week 6. They can start these a week before PIR (again, done in numerical order---800 divisions are random though).
Camo Mom: We can't post BattleStations dates on the page here---a request by RTC. But they can be private messaged on here. So as dates come in, please private message me as I will be maintaining a schedule. I will send it out in a message when I have the dates.
Hey, I was a competitive swimmer too(brother/sister also)! 10 yrs....got as high as the '68 (ok, dating myself here!) Olmpic trials...was young, nervous, and ended up at the ER after a reaction to iron that I had been taking. Was expected to place in the top 3 of my event (800 free) but of course...didn't...16th! UGH! Believe me, I know about the appetites of competitive swimmers. My non-swimming friends couldn't believe how much I could eat...until my weight caught up with me and I couldn't eat like that anymore. HA!
Anyone staying at the Navy lodge and planning on meeting their SR at the airport early Saturday morning and using Sarge's taxi? If so i would love to split the cost.
Mr SR has said the food all along has been pretty good with a varied selection. I told him to think about what he wants to do. Chill? Get out and about?
I guess it's mostly going to depend on how much time he gets.
Today is 5-2 for them. New adventures await!
My SR said the first stop will be Taco Bell and maybe Italian for dinner no other ideas yet. He grew up near the Chicagoland area so he has seen the sights but it's been a few years.
It won't be long now. No letters yesterday hoping for some today.
HUNGRY?? All I have heard is good, nutritious chow. Probably not enough time to eat his fill, or HUNGRY for some of the stuff he's used to eating that NAVY does not serve. Like Pizza, Fried Chicken and Pie & Ice Cream !! I so wish someone would force me to not eat sugar....I could use the discipline..
you are funny Camo-Mom!! I am bring my SR some shorts and a tshirt for the hotel as well, although he told me that he does not want to hang out at the hotel, he wants to see Chicago, go figure...
