Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by KIM756 on January 16, 2012 at 5:34pm: I'll be at the Meet & Greet too. I will be wearing a purple scarf as well as the other awesome ladies from Div 059. :)
Anybody not planning on brining a WARM coat to PIR you should really rethink that. It will be freezing! My friend just got back from there on Saturday night and she couldn't believe how cold it was and we're from Washington State where we're used to cold for winter.
I can't wait to meet you all!

I did borrow one though because I hate cold weather and don't want to feel it. I did have to buy my daughter a coat online though. Should be here by tomorrow. Only 2 1/2 weeks until I see my son and get to touch him. Can't wait!

I would recommend even a rain coat or wind breaker in case of the weather being bad. Today in WA it is a high of 30 degrees and i have gone out wearing tennis shoes, a fleece coat and jeans.
