The information is already online.  The Chicago Daily Herald has the article.  I know this was not what I thought I'd be hearing and my heart aches for the SR's family, friends, and his navy family.

We got three letters yesterday!!  He has been so ill the entire time he has been there.  He finally got an antibiolic and was on a lighter schedule for 3 days.  I hope he can recooperate finally!  I've been so worried about him physically keeping up that schedule even though he is in great shape.  His spirits are always good which is a blessing.

Wishing the family of the dear boy who passed love and strength through their loss.

I will light a candle in memory of the SR.  And tonight I will do a silent moment to pray to his div and family.  We all feel the pain.  God love the family, div and RTC for doing a excellent job.

More info is on the internet - it was not a boy from Ship 2 Div 911 -  my thoughts go out to the family - hope our boys/girls are doing okay!

Good Morning, everyone.  I know we are all anxiously awaiting the official statement from RTC today.  Prayers continue for the family/friends of this recruit and all at RTC, especially the ones who knew this young SR.

Thanks Angelwetz, I know it is hard to think of anything else but all we can do is keep that young mans family and our whole Navy family in our prayers.

Thanks AbbyBlue for posting that.I completely understand why they would do that.

I hope that all those traveling today for tomorrows PIR are safe and without too many delays. I would say without any delays but some have already been notified of flight delays. Just let them all arrive safely and on time for PIR :-)

If you have not made your travel plans yet and time, money and works allows please try to go a day early just in case there are delays in these winter months.

U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command
All, tomorrow we will be posting an official message from the command regarding an incident that happened on base today. Until then, we respectfully ask that you refrain from posting any comments referring to this. Once we post our statement, you can post your comments. Please respect our wishes.

It's not that we do not want you to comment, it's simply because we want to post the official statement before hand and we were still gathering the details late in the day.

There are still 5,000+ recruits in training with loved ones who have everyday questions/concerns/issues which we continue to address on this page. We are not ignoring the issue at hand that occurred today, we in the Public Affairs Office are awaiting the official statement.

We thank you for those who are being respectful and patient.
