Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". Comment by KIM756 on January 11, 2012 at 11:15am: Last Wednesday my SR told me they were week 3 day 2, that would make today 4/3. I don't know, it's so confusing. He's in a push division that is supposed to get done in 7 weeks instead of 8 so I don't know how that changes things.

Comment by Marcy on January 11, 2012 at 10:26am: They all look like a bunch of babies in bootcamp. All very handsome and beautiful though. I am getting so exciting for all of you. It is a feelling you may never have again. The pride when that door comes open is so overwhelming. Like someone else said I don't know when I have felt that much pride. I am always proud of their accomplishments but PIR is a different kind of pride. I know I may have said this before but I wish all of your sailors the best in what is to come in their new adventures after graduation.
