thanks Donna.. I hope you  make  it through the day. I cried a few tears  twice.. once when it  got to be 12:30 Am on HAlloween.. that's when they pronounced her  deceased and then again later that nite when I was at the nursing home.. Seeing someone elses stuff on  the dresser.. another quilt on the bed. It  hurt.. but then I dried the tears and went on living.. Today's eval was bogus.. The thought  of it alone was enough to  make me anxious.. trying to remember all this stuff about  how i have felt depressed.. I forgot alot of the stuff I was going to say.. then after I got out of there.. it came to mind about the hoarding .. the feelings  of despair when we couldn't pay the mortgage....now with hubby's illnesses and pending tests about the  crystals in his  urine. The fact that people  ( relatives) have pressured me to find a job. sometimes crawling out of bed is a challenge.. Not feeling like doing things I used to like to do... my  mom's death.. all that crap...

HAving a packing party in  Connecticut.. would be fun... or even in Springfield.. the bus  station so I  could hang out  during my layover before I went on to New HAven.. But that won't be til janusry or Feb.. Well gotta go put something in my stomach. TAlk soon

Nita, my heart breaks for you.  I had no idea how tough 1st anniversaries could be, then I went thru the 1st for my Dad on Oct. 1 and now I'm facing my Mom's 1st on 11/10.  I can't believe they have both been gone a year already, my heart still feels like it was yesterday. I was hospitalized w/an infection on 10/1 so I didn't even get to visit his grave.  I don't know what I will do on the 10th.  Probably cry still there are no tears left.  Then get ready for our packing party.

I dearly hope that some of you can make it, but will certainly understand if you can't.  I keep trying for a Springfield party.  Maybe we should nix that and have a CT packing party!  Any takers??  I can talk you thru the whole process (so your shipping will be paid for) & I'd LOVE to come myself.  THINK about it...

Well hubby is  diabetic.. type 2.. sure  hope I can get things straightened out before I go to Groton in a few mos. This is going to be interesting. well Halloween was  interesting. Mom's one yr anniversary. What did I di.. well after  hubby's  app't with the doctor.. he went to work and I went to the nursing home to  visit with some of the residents in my mom's  old unit. You remember the old song.. if you can't be with the one you love.. then love the ones you're with.. well that's what I did.. Mom isn't there but in  spirit.. so I gave others some attention.... kinda like what we  do in Molly's...  Pass out the love.. show the love to others what we  would want others to show to our  kids. My son was never on a ship.. but I have tried to be supportive to other kids who may be far away. My son is now in  NewJersey recruiting more  darlin's into the military. He was awesome as a seabee.. I know he would be awesome there in Jersey too.. well hubby's  gotta get up soon. and I gotta dohis bloodwork for him TAlk soon.

Just found out we are packing for the Task Group Trident, a group of Navy sailors in A'stan. There are 325 sailors - that's a lot of sailors!!  PLEASE, can any of you help MA Navy Moms with this mission??  Remember we are going inexpensive - hot chocolate, candy canes & treats.

I can promise you lots of talk, laughter and fun!!  Even a cup of coffee or tea...

Hi Proud,

Glad you've joined us!

Hi Everyone!  I'm Donna aka NYPD - the one that Nita mentionned in one of her comments.  I've been reading thru your comments and it is so nice to meet you.

I am a member of MA Navy Moms. A group w/a large membership, but only a handful of active members - sound familiar? Some have probably no connection with the Navy anymore and forgot they ever joined!  I discovered that RI Moms also have a similar problem.

The reason I was looking for you CT Navy Moms was to invite you to a packing party that the MA Moms are having. It is going to be Sat., 11/12 @ 1pm. It is going to be held in Milford, MA (right off 495) and almost the middle of the state. We wanted to extend the invitation to anyone who might want to come and is in driving distance.  MA Moms send packages to whomever Molly's Adopt A Sailor 'adoptees' are. Having a packing party means that the group, Molly's... aka MAS, will cover the shipping costs.

This month we are doing our own thing since finances are tight for everyone. We are sending hot chocolate packets, small candy canes to put in the hc to give it a minty, holiday flavor and pre-packaged sweet treats of the buyer's choice. We are also writing cards and notes to include in our boxes. We are also getting disposable cups that hold hot liquids and perhaps some holiday napkins.  We don't know yet how many are in MAS's 'adoption' but that should be announced soon.

So, if any of you are interested please leave me a message here or PM me.  Or you can check for party details and directions under "Events" or join MA Navy Moms.

However, you decide to get more info, I really hope you will feel free to join us.  We've invited RI moms too.  Perhaps all of the New England states should join together to do some things??  I know MA Moms are willing to travel.  Something to think about anyway.

It was very nice learning about your sons and families. I promise to come back sometime soon and tell you about mine. That is my son and his 5 mos. old daughter in the pic.  She's got Daddy's lid on and has a tight hold on his dog tags.  He just deployed.

You certainly ARE something, Nita! :)

Glad you had such a nice time. I've been chatting with a young woman who is about to move to the Groton area, and she seems to have some concerns. I will have to tell her that you thought it was wonderful. :)

BTW.. the place where I got my haircut gives discounts to senior citizens and military.. I knew I'd be getting a senior discount for  senior citizen.. but I thought I see if they would give me one for military.. after all I am  a NAvy Mom....Couldn't  hurt to try. I ended up getting a discount  for something... well I am something else so  I deserve one.. wouldn't you agree? My sister trested me so  that was cool... infact she  spoiled me....
