Craig, about time you got here. Magic Mike? Sheesh, did you have to check your gonads at the door?

Rod,

Great to have you! Be careful about that answering questions offer, it may be a full time job around here.

So, what is your son's rating?

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on July 3, 2012 at 9:23am

(Sigh)....Aye, Aye Capn' on the tidying things up ...I mean making things ship shape!

Craig's on board!

Nice tutu Craig (which BTW that whole seen is just "wet your pants" laughing!)

Oh, I'm sorry you had to go see Magic Mike, (but nice of you to do so  for the wife!)...I don't drag hubby to see that stuff...now that I think about it...I barely watch it!

I just went and looked at our DVD collection and the only "chick flicks" I have are:

Anne of Green Gables and Steel Magnolias (and does Steel Magnolias really count?!)

I'll have you all know I was promoted to Second in Command on this wayward vessel! But I will try to behave myself.

Mermaid Mafia indeed! (ha,ha snort, snort!) Be glad we aren't these Mermaids:

Thank God, a group that isn't estrogen enriched.

My wife dragged me to watch "Magic Mike" yesterday; I'm beginning to question my sexual orientation.

You guys got to help me out!

Thanks jack flash. Anything I can help with let me know. The navy has changed a lot since my day, there are still some fundamentals. My advice that I gave to my son when he started was "pay attention to detail ". The biggest problem my son has with the new guys is some just don' t care and he does and has always been squared away. He is coming off a 2 year shore duty where he he was around nothing but E4s and above, but even there he had some slackers. You have to play the game if you want to advance and stay in especially in his rate.

Hi Rod-- Welcome aboard!  We are the few here, so we have to stick together.  We might even have to unionize, to avoid being "de-ported" by the Mermaid Mafia.  We can use your input here-- from someone with the whiskers that come from having been through it all.  My son is just starting the adventure, so my knowledge is limited.

Bravo Zulu on your group.  My son is on the Ike, ABH2 (Bay PO Bay 2).  He has been in 8 years and going for 14.  This will be his first deployment on the Ike, but his 4th overall (3 on the Stennis).

I myself am a Navy vet, served in the Viet era (BM3).
Any questions I can answer just let me know.
