My son is doing very well in 29. It's in the mid 50's so he might be a little chilly. We forget while it's in the triple digits from end of March through October, it does cool off...sort of. It was in the 70's there last week! He just qualified to be the ACLS instructor. His soft orders popped for his next billet...gonna be green side in Japan.
I had predicted that Seattle would win...didn't know it would be a blowout. Since I live in the Pacific NW, I am very very happy!!
My son is suffering in 70 degree weather. Never thought I'd be jealous of Bahrain's weather.
How about that forecast for Norfolk -- 6 to 12 inches of snow.
Today I went back to the beginning of this place and started reading forward (the system of posting here is so odd), anyway, looking for updates from all our posters. What is your sailor doing today? Where is he/she stationed? Is your sailor enjoying the Navy?
Who's going to win the Superbowl?
I had not preciously watched the carrrier documentary. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the post.
Hope all you dads are enjoying time with your sailors at home this Christmas if they could make it! If not, we all are praying for your sailors whereever they're deployed. My son's in nuke power school in Goose Creek, SC, which closes for the holidays so we're fortunate to have him home this Christmas.
Drama, I don't recall what sort of ship your son is on, but if you haven't seen the 10 part documentary, "Carrier", I would highly recommend it.
Yes, Captain Phillips was good. However, I looked into the true story, and had to wonder, here was a Captain clearly told not to wander off the path all the ships take, got in trouble because of it, and the Navy had to bale him out. Does the private corporation reimburse the Navy for all the manpower expense?
Hi Dads! One of you recommended watching Top Gear and I finally watched it when my Corpsman was home. GREAT SHOW!!! Oh my...what a good giggle! We had a blast watching it together. Thanks for the recommendation.
Also...anyone see "Captain Phillips"? I saw it with my son while he was home. I thought it was an excellent film...quite the emotional roller coaster ride.
I keep seeing notification of activity here, but then can't find it. Is it just the ESPN news updates?
