How funny...Bandito's Mom. I "trained" his dogs on sheep for a couple if times at a facility I was at. Someone would bring them out. It was more of a just a "fun thing"for them to do rather than serious sheepherding. Small world sometimes!

Janis, my SR is a Nuke too, Will be ET and has his PIR one week from tomorrow.  Have a blue candle lit tonight and very excited.  He acheived Sharpshooter, which fits right in with his early dream job... Sniper.  only able to share that with all of you....

Hubby went to school with Danny Elfman didn't know him and he never shows up to high school reunions

I like "Sugarland".  II always know when my Sailor has been driving my car, always listening to Country.

A concert, something else to plan!

Sounds like we should do a meet and greet at a concert:)

Okay, I'm older than most of you I guess. I'm 59.  Couldn't afford too many concerts even as a teen but did go to Rolling Stones I was never really a big fan until then....Mick was fantastic.  Beach Boys (the originals....I was a surfer's gf so they were my favorite group) and Fleetwood Mac opened for them when Universal first had open air concerts. In, I think, 68 the Turtles played at my high school.  Saw Jan & Dean and Rightous Bros, the Association and Creedance Clearwater. But that is about it.  Wow hadn't even thought of some of those in years and there are some of you here that have probably never heard of some of them!  Feeling like a very old Valley girl now!

Rock on! Love all that too. Bunker I am ENVIOUS! Would have loved to have seen some of those. I was a disco-baby , HA, New Wave was in while my huubby and I were dating and I still like it. Oingo Boingo,(Danny Elfman, lead singer, who does most of the Movie scores nowadays), DEVO, B-52's. I like almost everything...just love music! Hubby took me to see Heart againa few years ago! About ften or so years ago I saw KC and the Sunshine band...they played at Disneyland for High School grad...and I brought three 45's with me to sign. KC laughed and said, "Wow, these are old!" I told him I had to explain what they were to my boys!

I love musicals but can't afford them right now (other hobbies and teenagers! LOL - VERY worth it though!)...though I should try and go to the local ones. The last one I saw that was big was Miss Saigon...I know looooong time ago.

I have never seen the Rolling Stones, I don't know why, my girlfriends and I used to go to all the concerts.  Never was into the grunge thing, we didn't really go clubbing in Hollywood much, stuck to the Valley mostly.

Janis, you will love seeing your son at PIR, one of my favorite parts is when the door rolls up and they start marching; even though my son didn't march in, he was already in due to being in the band, he entered the hall at 7:30am, he walked by us and looked right at us and smiled, he got a little reprimand but it was worth it.  His best friend is a Nuke on the USS Enterprise, they are in VA now, getting ready to leave soon.

My hubby (then BF) was the one living in LA and going to all the clubs in the 80's, I was still a sheltered OC girl at the time.  My friend and I talked him into taking us clubbing.  We dressed to the nine's in all black, but couldn't take the OC out of us.  Smiling and bip bopping down the street when the club we were heading to was emptied out by the fire dept for crowd control.  Looked at all those dour, grunge-punk get ups and faces; and turned around.

Don't get me wrong, been to all the big name concerts except Rolling Stones hubby went to the one in 89 or 90, but I stayed home with then infant SR.

Our best recent experience was going to the Prince concert. $25/ticket!!!!  Loved him now, never liked him then.  We have also been going to musicals and other events recently.

Yes my husband, daughter, sister in law & I are all going to his PIR.  He heads to Charleston North Carolina for Nuke school after graduation.

Welcome Janis. Glad to see you here.  I have met a couple of other people with children with that same grad date.  I"m meeting one of them when I go to Las Vegas in mid December.   Will you be going to his PIR.  Where will he be going after graduation?
