Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to all Anticipating PIR 10/7/2011!!
This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)
It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.
It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.

If you look just to the right on this page, under the blue heading of 'Pages', you will find a page that contains some additional information and some fun stuff to send your SR.
On another note, we had a good bye party and invited each person to write a short note of encouragement on a small white card that I provided. I have enough to send 3 each week he is there. Even if you didn't do this before your SR left, what is stopping you from having a 'let's write notes to our SR!' party? You could do the same thing and your SR would be super surprised and not just getting what I term 'mommy mail'. These were folks that are friends of my SR as well as family friends and would not normally write to him.

Hi Everyone, I got my letter from my daughter yesterday, the form letter! But even so, I was so excited to get home to read it. Gosh, it feels great to have even a small connection with her again. She is my baby and I have had a difficult time. Getting better, though! She sounds great in the note, but wants lots of mail. I am writing every day. KathyMom, if there is anyone that isn't getting letters, please let me know and I will definitely help out!

KathyMmom, I totally agree, you did an awesome job on your page.
Good morning ladies, I'm Betsy, also one of our "veteran" moms. My son, who is the youngest of my 5 children, graduated from BC in Dec. 2010 and is currently finishing up with his his CTT A school in Pensacola, FL. I am also the proud "almost" mother in law of another sailor. My daughter's fiance is stationed in Hawaii as an ET on a submarine. My daughter is living there also, to be with him for his final year of service. They will marry after they leave Hawaii, because my daughter doesn't want to get married there. (Yes, I think she is crazy, because who doesn't want to get married on the beach in Hawaii? lol) Bucksmom, seems like we have something in common, with a Navy son and a Navy son in law to be. :)
I have been coming on N4M's, pretty much every single day, for over a year now and I don't know how I would have survived without the help of all of our wonderful veteran moms. I love helping out now and can't wait to get to know you all. Welcome to our crazy Navy mom life.
