Welcome to all Anticipating PIR 10/7/2011!!

This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)

It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.

It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.

Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members.  (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)

Please review the Community Guidelines and keep OPSEC in mind when you post. If you would not want an enemy to know something, then do not post it here because this is NOT a secure site and the enemy lurks. Please do not post your Sailor's last name and NEVER his/her full name. Also do not use your full name, especially if your last name is the same as your Sailor's. If your Sailor provides specific information about events that will occur, please keep that to yourself and do not post the day/time on here since this information may be sensitive and is not to be shared.

marywill2000-

Can it be a black laptop case?

The back pack the Navy gave him is Blue with NAVY on it.

Mary, I was planning on his cell phone. He's getting a brand new laptop cause he's spoiled rotten. Lol.

Lydia, His phone for sure!!!! Anything that would be comforting to him that you can pass off at the airport. If he has a laptop pack that. Apparently if you put anything in a bag it has to be a black back pack!

@momofbp my son said they had to be white because of their white uniforms I'm sure he can wear colored off duty but YES they had to be white and mine changed at the hotel while in his dress whites tossed the others and wore those back to base I packed the rest and passed off at the airport with his phone and laptop.  Have a great day.

@MomofBP, Happy Birthday to your son! Me and my husband had to spend our first wedding anniversary apart, but we figured it was okay because we spent our 5 year anniversary together shortly before he left. =)

Also, when I got up this morning I did a half-jig to the kitchen to make coffee. I'm so excited I cannot contain it any longer. Only bad thing is that I haven't got a letter from him asking me to bring anything, so now I have to guess as what to grab. Ugh.

Hello Ladies well your almost there its been quite a ride hasn't it. I was just remembering these final few days before my son's PIR and I was thinking about all the things he wanted from home, the funniest thing (at least I thought was funny) was that he wanted me to bring white boxers and yes they have to be white lol. He said that the whitie tighties were getting old. Well have a great time at your PIR its amazing and enjoy the few short hours you have with your "Sailors" and congrats, thank you and welcome to the Navy family.

I know we are all excited - believe me I know - but please do not post dates. I've deleted a couple of comments this morning about dates so I'm sorry to those who lost a comment.
