Welcome to all Anticipating PIR 10/7/2011!!

This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)

It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.

It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.

Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members.  (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)

Please review the Community Guidelines and keep OPSEC in mind when you post. If you would not want an enemy to know something, then do not post it here because this is NOT a secure site and the enemy lurks. Please do not post your Sailor's last name and NEVER his/her full name. Also do not use your full name, especially if your last name is the same as your Sailor's. If your Sailor provides specific information about events that will occur, please keep that to yourself and do not post the day/time on here since this information may be sensitive and is not to be shared.

HooYah Leviferret!  Outstanding!  Ditto browns57 comment - good for him.  That is something to be proud of.  He didn't let anybody down, most importantly, not himself - he DID it!

@leviferret My Son wasn't in 333, he was in 337 but please let your son know that we are all happy & proud of him for sticking it out and not giving up. Congrats to your family!

I got the call from my SR yesterday that he had passed his run and had gone through BS.  Thanks to all for your support and prayers.

If anyone's SR was in 333, you can tell them that Zach made it.  When I visited with him last Friday, he told me that the hardest part besides feeling like he let me down was separating from his shipmates and that he felt like he had let them down.

Thanks again!

Hi Gina,

I sent a mssage directly to you - I'll send more later... it's been a long one today!  Glad you are home safe!  It was great to meet you all !  Let's keep in touch,

StepMama, how did I miss your comment last night.? There is a page on here about that, Division T-Shirts and Graduation Care Packages.  The link you need is Recruit Care Package.

I would think all of you are back at home by now and settling back into work and/or your normal routine.  I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed sharing this journey with you.  You are an amazing bunch and I am as proud of you as I am of your Sailors.

We had an "adopted daughter" with us last Friday, her family could not attend PIR.  We enjoyed having her with us for the entire day, just like one of our own!  She's a sweetheart and I'm glad I got to know her.  I'm thankful my daughter invited her to come with us.

lemonelephant - thanks for that link.  Looking at it now.  I thought I had found most of my stuff, but there are even more than I imagined!  :-)
