Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son (A school @ GL) is now a fireman apprentice and E2, he says. Cannot come home for Thanksgiving - we're way too far! He said he may be on watch, anyhow. He is coming home for Christmas, though, for about 10 days, I think. Can't wait! Big party at my house!

I am sending him a box of clothes this week, but he doesn't need much yet.

JustMe from NJ - I love that you thought your son had acheived the rank of 'ps3' - made me laugh! Did you tell him that? I love that they are so excited for small privileges, like being allowed to leave base or wear civilian clothes!

Some dvd's, Playstation, a couple of games, clothes, etc. I texted him tonight with a quick message re his banking. He wrote back that he got his ps3 and aced an exam; now he is allowed off base. My heart was filled with pride thinking he earned a new rank. I asked him what is ps3? .... His response: "Playstation". LOL
