Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". I don't think they allow singing cards! :/ I read that they were an object of RDCs making fun of recruits :( So they stopped allowing them.

I ended up waiting for the form to come in the mail before I sent her letters, but it came the same day as I got the address from our recruiter, but it was a bit off on the address

Comment by diannep on November 2, 2011 at 11:25am: The 4th week of training (the turnaround week), which is usually about 5-6 weeks after they have left for bootcamp, is the time where you really see a change. They have accomplished alot by then, and know they can do this. The "breakdown" process is over and the "buildup" process has begun. The yelling is not so much anymore...and they now understand that the RDCs are there to help them, not make them miserable. It is truly a wonderful change to see in them!
