Craig: Have to say...spoken like a true retired SAILOR! I had no clue what you were talking about! HA! We do so appreciate all of the insight you provide us non-sailors on here...helps immensely. You are my "go to" guy for Navy questions, for sure.
Lala: Well, I'm glad she is feeling better about it. I do have some BattleStations dates for her if she is interested in knowing them. Sadly...there are only a couple of nights this week and then possibly one night the week of PIR. Haven't heard about that one yet. So hoping that he will make his PFA and be able to do BattleStations in time to attend his PIR.
Good morning all!
Wasn't Captains Cup yesterday? Did anyone hear anything?
Yep, Ruth. Not sure...but like I said, they will fill her in at GL A School base and she will have the actual dates confirmed. So glad you will have so much time with her!
Craig-It looked like FED or FEP, but I am guessing that since they hace been doing fire fighting, it has to do with that.
Presleysmom-My daughter also turned 19 while there. Very strange not being with our kids on their birthdays for the first time.
Good Sunday Morning everyone, I hope you are all having a great weekend.
Diannep- She has not canceled and I explained everything to her and even texted her on the phone. She is hanging in there and everyone is praying for him. She asked the question on facebook and got the same info from RTC that I gave her so I think that conformation made her feel better.
They just showed the last of the US troops pulling out of Iraq, the war is officially over and they are coming home. They are all so so happy. What a wonderful morning their families are having this morning :-)
Ruth - Are you sure it wasn't EED? Which is Emergency Egress Device (aka SEED).
SEED = Supplemental Emergency Egress Device
Personnel working in engineering spaces wear Supplemental Emergency Egress Devices (SEEDs) on their belts for easy access. When a main space fire is called away, the watch stander should use the SEED to proceed to an Emergency Escape Breathing Device (EEBD). The watch stander should obtain an EEBD and don it (put on) when not in danger of immediate harm from heat or flames. Because the SEED lacks protection for the eyes and nose and has a short operational time, it is a supplemental device. However, it is immediately available for the engineering watch standers and is easily operated on the run.
I am saying Good Morning now as I will be busy most of the day! On baby duty at Church and then attending service. Then home to catch up on life! I'll be checking in later! Have a Wonderful Day!
Thanks Diannep. She was going to just take Liberty, but when she found out we could stay there she decide to take 2 days leave! I just was not sure when she would have to be back. Hope not on New years eve. I am guessing PIR day will not count as a day.
