Batman's Mom, prayers coming your way from me ((hugs))
Hi Ladies, What a game today, Huh? I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
I have been MIA for a couple of days, we had a death in my sister in law's family (whom I'm very close too) and then my youngest daughter flew back from college last night. Woohoo! But she arrived with a broken laptop and guess who has a final's paper due on Tuesday and hadn't started it yet? lol So, mom's laptop has been confiscated for a couple of days. After this coming Tuesday, I should be on here regularly again, but I have to defer the use of my computer to my baby girl for now. Luckily, my husband and I had already ordered her a new one for Christmas, but it hasn't arrived yet.
It's midnight now, and this is the first chance I've had to use my laptop today.
Well, when I read TSP, I thought: HMMMM....not only are those my sailor's initials (ha!) but I remember him talking about TSP (that's what they call it!). It just took my mind a while to figure it out! It's so much fun getting OLD... :-)
Thanks diannep. HAHAHAHA! She speaks in short hand anymore
Ruth: You can to to www.navyfederal.org and put TSP in the search box. The Thrift Savings Plan comes up.
Ok, Ruth. I think she may be talking about the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) with Navy Fed. Did she open an account with them? It is a like a 401 plan for the military.
BatmansMom: Prayers for you in your eventual diagnosis. Hoping you have the same "blessings" that my mom did when recently hospitalized. During her stay (surgery), they told me they thought she had leukemia because of a very elevated white bloodcount, even though she was recovering beautifully from her surgery and they were pleased???? Scared me to death--I didn't tell her what they suspected until after she was cleared and feeling better. Her mother died of that....well, no leukemia! So...hoping that the MS being thrown out there is the worst that it could be, and praying that it is something much more short-term. And hoping that they diagnose in a timely manner too!
On the fares, check Southwest to Milwaukee. That airport is an easy drive (no traffic)...a straight shot to GL on the interstate (about 45 minutes). They also charge no change fee (I had to change my reservation when my son was there because he was asmoed for a week) and no baggage fees for first two checked bags. Worth checking into! I sure wish I had known about Milwaukee when we flew from Miami almost 2 yrs ago. They also fly into Chicago-Midway, but I think you may find the Milwaukee destination cheaper.
Got a letter from my SR and she asked me to look into TSP or TSD and let her know what I think? I have no clue what she is talking about. Other than that all is well.
My SR said he wishes he could be here for x-mas, but he will send his love on xmas morning on a cloud...this is for all of you who will be without your SR's for X-mas......
Ruth L - Thanks for the comment. I love teaching people what the Navy is all about. We actually have some really cool things...
All - It looks like the U.S. Navy has been challenged by the British Navy to make the best video. I haven't seen the U.S. Navy's version yet.... Here's the British one...
Greetings Navy for Moms PIR 12/29/11!!
Just wanted to pass on some important information that Sarge asked me to inform you of... His I-phone was stolen and he has lost some important text messages from those of you who are using his service and wanted to have you either forward him an email with your flight information to his email address: johnspadaro@att.net or you may contact him via phone @ 1-847-212-0246. He is very concerned and does not want any to be left without transportation if you have made previous arrangements with him for this service.
Congratulations to you and your new Sailors (I am anxiously awaiting my SR's PIR on 06JAN12).
Merry Christmas to you all and Many Blessing for the New Year!
