Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". I am on the west coast and got mine on a Saturday eleven days after my son left. Ugh...yeah he asked about mail as hae had earned a call home. Felt bad, but I did not have a complete address from the recruiter.

My son still doesn't swear...at least not out loud that I know of...he's in Seabee "A" school though so plenty of hammers and swearing I'm sure.

'Course what's the world coming too when crustraceans have potty mouth!

Comment by ilovemysailor 009/021 on November 4, 2011 at 11:28am: My goofy SR would probably say "poop!" or "ouchy" hahah always says such silly words in situations that most people would let the four letter words roll :) We told him his RDC would proabably make fun of him if he yelled poop, but he said he refuses to cuss.

Comment by diannep on November 4, 2011 at 10:37am: Ok, Craig. You are too funny! What does it mean when my sailor actually has had some CO's that by their own admission, don't curse????? SHOCKING! He even had an RDC that didn't curse...so anyways.....whatever. Moving on! :-)
