Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

That happened to my son's division and their sister division. My son's PIR group had 11 or more divisions. It can get quite crazy.

Comment by diannep on September 26, 2011 at 7:58am: Thanks, desiree. yes, I knew that they went...but we had thought the next two were joining them. Many times, 4 divisions go that first night.

VAC: Yes, you should be able to visit Chicago on Fri and still get back in time. They usually have liberty until either 8 pm or 9 pm. The train station is right next to RTC, and many take that into Chicago. Weekend passes are cheap.

Remember....you all check your personal email for WestonsMom's group email. It will not be in your N4Moms email box. Depending on how your settings are, some ladies may not receive this. In that case, please friend/message WestonsMom directly for the names. I know it would mean alot to her son to be able to stay in touch with his shipmates after he gets out of RCU.
