~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

4 years in! Still get chills every Friday morning.
Power, it is amazing, isn't it? What a weekend. I will remember forever the chills when that door began rolling up, the music, and our sailors marching in and past us. It was like some old TechniColor Hollywood movie from the 40's or 50's. Just incredible. Every graduation my son has had has been special. Although it was kind of weird that I just turned right out of the parking lot onto the Pacific Coast Highway back in mid December and didn't have to make another turn til I got to CP for the FMTB graduation.
One year ago this weekend was one of the most amazing times as we traveled to Great Lakes for Boot Camp Graduation. 1 year later my son is on Reserves Drill weekend practicing his Corpsman skills with his Marines and the "big guns". The only way I'm O.K. with this is that I know they are all aiming the same direction - AWAY!
Hope everyone enjoys the memories this weekend and pray for their continued successes. :)
doing well? hmmm, that depends on who you ask. Me? Not so well...but my son has been on a rocket ride since.
Thanks for asking. Hope yours and all of this class are doing well.
hope all your sailors are doing well.
power0806, my son too.
Hope everyone is enjoying the Navy! A-school graduation was a few weeks ago. He is now a Corpsman and waiting for plane tickets to move on to FMTB at Camp Pendelton. I've seen a video for this and I have no idea how they all survive this but this is what he was looking for most of all. Good luck to all our sailors on their training.
Momma Bear - I have NOT received the DVD yet from PIR 3/22 (sorry, previous message was from my phone and did not have glasses on)!
