Disy...I suggest that you only bring a carry-on for your own clothes.  LOL

We are flying on Sunday - I told her I would send 4 boxes for her which I did on Wednesday and now she has come downstairs with a big smile and four suitcases filled!!! They weigh more than 50lbs each I am sure!! I could cheerfully strangle her right now!!

Disy...are you guys driving Twinkle 2 to college?  I remember how crazy it was when I first went to college.  I went to a school near Chicago and I flew out there by myself.  It was a whole new world to me.  We ended up shipping the rest of my stuff to the dorm.  I think the whole college experience these days has changed a LOT.  It seemed so simple back then.  When we were trying to get Jonathan into that dual-credit course at the University, it was so confusing and there were so many things to do even though he wasn't a "real student" who was working towards a degree. I'm glad now that he didn't take the class as he needed a little more free time. The colleges and representatives from them don't really prepare the parents for how much there is to do before their kids head off to college.

3boysmom...enjoy that time with your sailor and the time getting your twin ready for college.  Good luck with that new job and I hope all goes well for you.  We would love to hear what you did while your sailor was home on leave.

Disy...fascinating!  It must have been really interesting for your twin girls to learn the culture in Zimbabwe.  I think you made a GOOD choice to get out of CA when you did.  That state is going to hell in a hand basket.  I'm sure your girls will get a better education in TX too.  It's hard to make new friends when you start school somewhere else.  I had to do that when I was going from a private school thru 8th grade to public school for high school.  It was TOUGH!

Cathy...glad you made it home safe.  Now it's time to get a little rest and recover from all the chaos.  I hope you're hanging in there all right, your house has got to be pretty quiet now.  We missed you too!  Can't wait to hear about the Cardinal Company ceremony.

Actually I was born in Zimbabwe - we've only lived in the US since 2002 and only got our citizenship - 2 years ago! When we left Zim in 2001 we first moved to Holland and lived there for a while. My hubby is an engineer - just lucky to work for an international company! We were supposed to live in CA forever but really needed a change and with the older girls going away and the 2 little ones about to start 5th grade and 8th grade we thought we had to go now before High School so she can make friends and not be new on the first day of HS! And for the little one first day of Junior High!

Hi Ladies,

Just want to say  hello.  I've been busy with my SR home on leave and trying to get his twin brother ready to move back to college.  I'm also starting a new job so lots on the plate.  I don't get on here too often so just wanted to say hello to all.
