That sounds pretty right on Disy. I hope you and Cathy get more confirmation soon.

My son will be affected by the 4th of July next year since he will arrive just 3 days before. Even though it means he will prob be gone longer, it's probably a good thing. Otherwise he will have PIR on Labor Day Weekend. Not a good time to travel.

Sierrascrapper every time I read your post about getting more confused when you read it I just LOL! That is so me! I think I have it - then I read through it again and I'm like ... No wait whaaaat?? LOL! My SR would be rolling her eyes - OH MOTHER!! Talking of which we bought my little one a t-shirt that says:- Sorry did I just roll my eyes out loud!! That is so her - eye rolling queen!!

Yes - as far as I understand they don't have days off unless it is a National Holiday - like 4th of July! The thing that we don't know though is whether the division was full or not! Let's say they arrived but by Friday there wasn't enough to fill the divisions and they were waiting for peeps to arrive on Monday then our kids wouldn't start for another couple of days and will be on P-Hold! That's why we have to wait for the PIR letter 'cos they might not have started BC training yet! We just won't know - the recruiter knows so you could try and call him/her. the Chief told my SR that he will call me when he knows and he didn't call me yet - hopefully today!!

So do they use Saturday as a possessing day though? and then it is a working day after they start training??

Comment by Disy (Ship12Div371) on August 6, 2013 at 7:44am
Cathy - it isn't very clear on the website - it goes 1-5 then Sunday's! I think we have to assume that Saturday is a working day but just not listed on that agenda!

Oh there - thank goodness we have Steve!!!

Sierrascrapper I didn't see it before she left! One of her friends had their hair cut before BC at the required length and when she got to BC they cut it shorter - so she was like just let them cut it! One of the reasons she didn't want to go to the Citadel was that they cut their hair like a boy! She felt that they didn't accept that like it or not she was female ! Well that and the $45k a year in fees!!!

Doubletrouble - hang in - I promise the "just before" is the hardest!

Texted Steve. He said Saturdays were a workday, Sundays were off if you went to church.

Disy...did your daughter cut her hair before she left? If so, did you get to see it? I remember when I was in NJROTC, we had to keep a short cut or be able to stuff it all up into our hat. I went with the short haircut because it was so much easier than a billion bobby pins and a pound of Dippity-Do. LOL

Cathy...I tried reading and re-reading how the P-days go and the DOT, but I got more confused each time I read it. Hopefully you'll get a more clear view soon. I hope you get your box tomorrow.

Doubletrouble ...let the adventure begin. Looking forward to seeing those pictures. Hang in there and hug those boys tight. You can do this!
