Steve had a conversation like that with our neighbor. Also a few with military people who came into the store.
That is really fun to hear all those stories.
Sam got a 92% on the ASVAB. He called again! Wow twice in one week! Tonight we talked about an hour. He went to the beach again and got sunburned. He sunburned his wound. Ouch. He LOVES the beach. He got to wear civvies today and went shopping for fashion.

I have to tell you all about a fun time I had yesterday. I took my brother-in-law to our local "prepper/survival" store. A friend of mine runs the store and he just retired after 20 yrs from the Navy about a year ago. He was a Hospital Corpsman. While we were in the store I told him that Jonathan had finally signed up for the Navy. We talked with him before when Jonathan first started thinking about it. Our friend started telling us all kinds of GREAT Navy stories for about 1 1/2 hours. Stories about BC, stories on the ship, stories about being in port. It was such a good time. I wish Jonathan had been there with us. We definitely need to get them together. And...it would be cool if Nathanael was there too!

Oops CO-twin...sorry for the confusion...I was referring to Jonathan joining the Navy-DEP website. Ever since he came back from MEPS, I've tried to get him to join. He just keeps delaying it.

You are so right about not pushing it with Twin 1. I don't even mention it to him anymore. I'm trying to just focus him on getting good grades this year and applying for scholarships. He has to make the choice on his own. He did REALLY good on the ASVAB when he took it last fall. I think it was a 91or 92. He is a little harder to motivate, but I think he has matured a bit in the past 6 mos. He did really well getting his summer AP class assignments done without me having to make sure he was on track. So, he may start thinking a little harder about his future as the months progress.

Got a text from Sam that the wound looks better today.

What grade is your son in? Mine thought of it because hanging out at my store there were a lot of military coming in for some reason (God sent I think) telling him of all the benefits.  Then wen faced with the price tag while applying for college he thought that was the way to go and rode his bike 35 miles to the recruiting office and joined on his own.  His brother got asked by the recruiter when Steve had his home visit what he was doing, Sam's reply was "I have no idea" He scored 92% on the ASVAB so then the recruiter wanted him bad.

So pray and maybe if it is meant to be God will direct someone into his life.  I think If I would have pushed it they wouldn't have. purely because they so not want mom telling them what to do at that age. They are getting ready to fly the coop.

CO-twin...how crazy! Praying that it heals quickly. Too funny about the tightey whiteys. Are they required to wear them even after BC? My boys have been boxer boys since like 4th grade I think. LOL

Disy...I keep trying to tell my son to join...but he still keeps putting it off. One day...I'm trying to figure out what I can tell him to convince him. He keeps saying he is just too busy. I would say it's probably more an issue of him being too distracted by less important things like video games. LOL

Sam went to the beach, he goes most weekends. He was running in about a foot of water and a wave took his feet out from under him. He scrapped his hip pretty bad. He sent me a text pic in his tighty whittles which was funny in itself. My boys always wore boxers. The wound was quite nasty and ? Risk of infection. He found a female for first aid LOL. He texted me updates and called for instructions. Anyway his time is so short he did not want to go to medical. He kept it clean and kept noesporin on it with gauze and last night said it looked better.

Sierrascrapper - Jonathan should actually join the website - it has so much information for them - and it's written towards them!

Hope Sam is OK! What did he do to himself ?

Cathy...so you still go to the same church that you went to as a kid?  That is cool! The church I grew up in has a school, but I was in HS when they started it.

Disy...that is good to know!  Thanks for sharing...I'll have to write that down so I can know to look for it when Jonathan leaves.
