Thank double trouble. You gave me a good laugh. Will you son miss his long hair?
Sam had a female at BC with him with the same last name and they are in class together at nuke school. Too wired.

Twinsalorsmom, thats funny about them being called 1 & 2 at BC. My twins were football players in high school & are used to being called by their last name, but when they got on varsity they played the same position just opposite side of the quarteback. Their position coach got tired of calling their last name & they both turn around so he gave them a new nick name. Our last name has 'stew' in it so he called them beef stew & veggie stew! Jacob was a bit bigger so he was beef stew, they loved it!
Cathy & disy, I will be thinking of you both. One of mine will be leaving next week so I'm starting to freak out. I saw a post on here somewhere that someone did an open house before her son left. We decided after church this Sunday that we are going to do that, I invited everyone to come by &visit with the boys. I'm also going to have stationary for people to write letters for me to send during BC.

Good afternoon ladies!

3boysmom...so sorry to hear about another sailor having his life taken away too soon. Every time I hear about these incidents, my heart just wrenches. It seems like I've heard about several incidents in just the two months I've been on N4M. Prayers going up for that sailor's family and for comfort for your son. I don't think us Mom's realize the camaraderie that is built between the sailors at BC.

Twinsalorsmom...I read your post to my boys and we all had a GOOD laugh. I can just imagine how much chaos was created having both of your boys in the same division through BC. When my boys were in middle school together, their friends would just call out their last name because they looked so much alike. They HATED it. It's funny to hear the recruiter call my son by his last name all the time now which brings back those middle school memories.

Cathy and Disy... ((((HUGS)))) I'd send box of virtual tissues if I could. Tomorrow is swear-in day at MEPS right?

Twinsailorsmom I had trouble when they were babies with insurance claims. One would be paid and the second sent as duplicate claim. I got so frustrated I stapled their photos onto the claims with a note that they were two separate babies. The insurance lady called me laughing, said they go by first initial and birthdate.  Mine are Sam and Steve. They are not identical though. Yours are handsome. I bet they drive the RDC's batty. Sam is older by 1 min.

I think we all have those days when we can't help it, the tears flow when something triggers thoughts of our sailors. I'm so glad neither of my military boys have a girlfriend at this point. I don't think I would take it too well if one of them called or wrote to a girlfriend instead of me. I know it will come, I'm just not ready for it yet.

I am amazed at how many sailors have died recently in accidents. That make about 6 I think.

Sam said last I talked to him about how many sailors are engaged or have gotten married. He says he wants to get married but will wait for a long while.  He said,"Hello your are in the navy and will not see each other for a long time, and your are too found."  Smart young man that Sam of mine.

Disy and cathymg Prayers for you today and in the days to come.  a couple of us here have been through this already, more than once.  I cried every day for a long time, still do sometimes.  Keep little things around that I bump into to make me stop and say "Oh my Sammie or Oh my Steve." I might tear up and I always say a quick prayer for them.

The anchors away video is up on my page.  You will be seeing yours singing in a really short time.

Thank you all so much for welcoming me to this group.  We were all very surprised also that they kept my twins together for BC.  They call them 1 and 2.  My last letter from my older (by 3 minutes) SR said that that RDC "can't wait to meet the idiot who gave 2 boys that look exactly alike the same initials and then sent them to BC together!"  I wrote back to my boys and told them "I can't wait to meet the RDC too."  :)
