Man, I love seeing all the pictures!  Sierrascrapper, I have read on this website somewhere, I think I saved the link, that they can take contacts and solution with them to BC and keep them in their A drawer so they will have them for pics and stuff.  http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms?commentId=1971797%3AC... I think this is the link to the comment.  Countrygirl posted the comment on the Boot camp Moms Discussion.  She said her son wore his contacts and took 2 spare pair and 3 oz of solution to BC and was able to keep it, they did not make him send it home.  I'm hoping that is true because both my boys wear contacts and are planning to take some with them also.

Here is a prom picture of the boys, their dates and friends.  Darien is in the black tux, Jacob in the white and the young lady in the blue dress has been one of Jacob's best friends since elementary school.

cathymg, about the boys not having their driver license, my husband and I have not really pushed it and the main reason is the cost to insure TWO teenage boys!!  They have said they want to get them before BC, but are really dragging their feet on it.

Hope your boys have a safe and fun camping trip.  Where did they go?

My sisters kids all got very curly at puberty.

Everyone in my family is short, at 5'3" I am the tallest woman.  My mom was 4'10" and so is one of my sisters.  I was taller than some of my uncles.  I asked my Dad, where did that come from (Sam) we don't grow people like that in our family.  He told me that his Grandfather was 6'5".

I sent Steve off with an art journal, he likes keeping an art journal.  My Dad kept one while in the navy on a destroyer during WWII.  I printed a cool Mark Twain quote on the cover.  I put it in a zip lock with micron pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener and blender.  I gave that to him after boot camp,

Before Boot Camp I spent several days really thinking about him from conception on and wrote a two page poem of Memories of Steve, then later Memories of Sam

As they left I made a shoe box of their favorite cookies to share and inside was an envelope with the poem for them to find later.  Steve texted me later that that was the most wonderful thing he had ever received.  He kept it, said he had a hard time putting it in the box to mail home with his personal effects and asked for it back later.

My boys left on a camping trip today with a set of twins. Nathanael made friends with a twin at his school and he also goes to our church. So the one twin is good friends with both of my boys. I sure hope my boys get along alrigh. I know they will have a LOT of fun. This is the first time they have gone on a trip together without Mom and Dad. I'm preparing myself already for the changes to come.

Thank you for the good advice regarding the twin loss at BC CO-twin. I didn't really think of that but it really hits home. I'm hoping that their relationship improves over this next year. It seems their competitiveness is so fierce that they try to hurt each other by being mean. Nothing physical, just not communicating nicely.

Too funny about your boys hair Cathy. My boys hair has gotten curlier over the last couple years too. My brother has naturally curly hair and I have a natural wave in my hair.

Interesting that your boys are so different in height CO-twin. They definitely don't look alike but I bet that helps them feel more individual. Right now the boys are neck and neck with each other in height. Sometimes one of them will be slightly taller and then the other one catches up. They are 3" taller than my husband and I right now. I have a feeling they are going to be over 6' by the time they are finished.

My boys are identical, of course there are a few differences. Gregory's hair is curlier, Bryce is able to cut his hair short enough that you can't tell it is curly when it is longer, Gregory can't cut his curls out, it is just to curly and it is really funny because they had straight hair until about the age of 12 or 13. Gregory is easy going, Bryce can have a temper. But they are pretty close, they would never tell on each other, they always have each others back. They both are smart but didn't apply their self at school, but they always tested well and they got the same score on their ASVAB test.

Co-Twin, I love the picture that you put on of Steve, for some reason I love red hair, handsome young man, they both are. I could of never of home schooled my kids, I admire you. But I would have never had the patience for it.

Sierra, I am a little jealous of the school system in your area. It is great you have the specialized choices that you have. I guess I have a lot of pictures of my boys together, probably because they do so much together.

Wow great article thanks. We have a man in his 80's in our church who served in the navy, same ship with his twin. His brother saved his life during a storm from being swept overboard.

One thing to think about, when your son goes to boot camp. I was very emotional, this site helped a huge amount to hear other moms doing the same thing I was like spending time in their rooms to feel closer, makes you feel that you are not nuts to feel this way, most moms do the same thing.
But having twins, I had to also be thoughtful of that loss for his twin. To be sure to copy every letter and give it to his twin. To have the phone on speaker to share the calls, etc... To let them have private calls. To at PIR let them be together. It is a different bond than regular siblings.

We do live in a small town population 800. I homeschooled till junior high. Your guys twins all look pretty similar. Mine I think barely look related.LOL. They do both have brown eyes. One has amassingly good vision the other wears contacts. One is 5'7" his twin is 6'4". The short one with good eye sight has red hair. The tall one dirty blond. Personality wise Steve has the red head go get um personality, he joined first. He had two jobs first, he walked first, yet doesn't drive. His twin is quieter but more social, he is happy all the time, optimistic and accepting. He has always been dependent on following his brothers lead. They are very close.
