Ellen...that is such a good attitude to have.  I find that when I set high expectations (whether on a trip or just for an event), I always seem to be let down. It's still hard not to wish for the best though.

It is hard to lose a mother or father. I lost my father when the boys were about 4 years old.  It was tough, but I also didn't know him all that much.  I lost my step-dad last year in May, he raised me most of my life.  He was a military veteran that served in the Navy and the Army. My Mom was having a really rough time with it, especially because he was sick for a few months and we had to watch him dwindle away. I am the only child who lives close to my Mom, so I was the one who was there to comfort her.  Holidays are different without him here, and they are pretty tough for my Mom so I understand how you feel.

Hang in there and just know that maybe your brothers are dealing with inner issues that they can't express.  Invite them, but don't expect anything. Enjoy what you do have and don't dwell on what you don't, because it will just eat you up inside and create bitterness.

I have no clue but sometimes steves has been long enough to tell i is red.  Some of the pictures from the ship some guys grow it pretty long like what Jonathan's was to start!  He says you can always tell the newbies at school by the hair.

Ellen...I hope you get your wish for all your kids to come home for Thanksgiving. That will be so very special. I am trying to prepare myself for the future of not gettinggetting to spend holidays with the whole family. This Thanksgiving is at our house and just my Mom is coming. But for Christmas, my sister and brother are coming out and maybe a niece or nephew or two. It's going to be extra special. We will savor the moment while we still have it. All we can do is pray that Jonathan will get to come home for Christmas next year.

His hair is a bit long still on top, but the sides and back are completely shaved. The picture doesn't do it real justice. LOL It was fun to watch the barber dodo his work. We've never taken him to a barber before. He was so fast too. I appreciate your comment in saying it will be shorter because it prepares me. This is the shortest he has ever gotten his hair cut. How often do they need toto get their hair cut to keep it in shape?

I will pray for you that all can be there what a wonderful thanksgiving that will be. I am hopping that we will all be present for Stephens ship to come in. Sam has to get permission I think. He will be in T-trak in nuke school in S Carolina. And I would come from Colorado with my soon to be ex. It will be the first time we can all be together since Stephens PIR last January 4th. I think this navy journey the times to all be together are few.

Sierrascrapper that is close but it will be even shorter, almost bald on the sides ans about 1/4" on top.
He is so cute. They both are.

Jonathan decided he needed a military-style buzz cut today since he had to wear a "nylon" on his head during their last band competition.  We took him to a barber for the first time.  I almost cried seeing him get this hair cut.  He looks so much older!

Sam will be home fr Christmas and I am hoping we will all be there in Virginia to see Steve's ship come the end of January then Steve will be home for leave. Poor Steve missed last years Thanksgiving and Christmas then his b day. This year he is not home again for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Shesh. I'm sorry but what are your other triplets doing?
Oh don't tell me the IKEA stuff is hard to put together. I have an antique bed and want to replace the mattress with an IKEA mattress.
I sent Stephen two FPO boxes today we are betting a Starbucks coffee for when he comes home as to what date they will arrive on deck. I am guessing 11/12. His guess is 11/5. I sent Sam a box today I packed it in the box his stuff got sent from BC in. Thought that would be funny. My boys are very different looks wise and they are close, Steve has always been the leader, he is very outgoing, Sam is the quiet one and would follow Steve's lead. We homeschooled till high school. It is great for Sam to be on his own to develop who Sam is on his own.

Doubletrouble...too funny about the Ikea stuff. It's not impossible, but it is a challenge. We bought a lampshade there last weekend and couldn't figure out how to make it work on the lamp. LOL Thank goodness for the internet! We needed a couple large washers to make it work, and now I LOVE my new lampshade. I have bought a few pieces of furniture there and I've been very pleased with the final product.

CO-twin... We will be going back over the hill in a couple weeks. Not sure my hubby will be thrilled with me wanting to stop in there, but I don't mind at all. LOL
