Hey 3boysmom. So glad to hear from you. When did your son break his foot. Pray he will heal and end up with a position that will make him happy. What kind of barge? It is hard on our hearts when our sweet kids are hurting, sad, disappointed,or struggling. Mine, Steve, FB messaged three hours last night. He is feeling confined on his ship. Said he struggles with only being able to go 500 feet. Tried to cheer him up, any suggestions?

Hi moms,
I hope all are well. Since starting my new job I have zero time to get on this page. My sailor is settling in at San Diego, although he's living on the barge which isn't great. My soldier was in training for SF and broke his foot (and his heart) so he's DQ'd and not sure where he goes from here. It's so hard to see them work so hard and suffer disappointments, even though it's a part of life.
I pray all your sailors are well and happy.

3 of the Moms at our meeting yesterday have sons who contracted to try out for SEALS. 2 of the boys leave on Oct 1 and the other in January. That has got to take a strong heart for a Mom to go through that.

CO-twin...hope Steve gets over his ship fever soon. He will get through it.

Ellen How often do you get to see your older boy, the twin right? How do you handle having a SEAL.? There are three , two raised here one married to a local, SEALS from here. Always in awe of them and what they do. Two of them, mom and mother in law, has such grace. I admire her.

Yesterday sale went well, thank you for prayers. Today one sale supposed to rain. Very cloudy. Woke at 1am and checked my iPad, there was a sweet message from Steve that he had just posted, a fat grey cat with a hi, Mom. We chatted for three hours, my mom heart was sad, he is feeling what would you call it? Ship fever? The fact that he can only walk 500 ft. A boy who likes to ride his bike 35 miles or longer. A boy who rock climbs and ice climbs. Tried to cheer him up. To look forward to the next port call, to try to find joy where he is. That 10-5 is halfway point of his deployment. Then he can be home on leave and ice climb. Pray for his sadness.

So glad your picnic went well. Sounds like an adventure that turned fun. All that planning was worth it.
One more day of garage sale. A little sad to sell off lots of the boys stuff. They had 9 bikes. They kept 2 and 1 that my friend gave them that belonged to her son who died in a auto accident. Sold dressers, sleds, scooters, paintball guns, etc...
Weather here was good, but tomorrow could be dicey.

CO-twin...so glad business finally picked up a little for you. God is good.

After a bumpy start, our Navy Moms picnic was a success! First the weather got crappy and there were some rain showers. Then when we got to the park there was a huge party there so there were no tables. One of the Dads works for the city so he was able to relocate us to an indoor location. We had a really good time. There were 4 of us DEP Moms, a wife of a reservist, and a Mom of a reservist. We plan on getting together again next month and they are interested in helping with the N4M Holiday Project. A couple Moms are sending their boys off in a couple weeks and another is leaving in Jan. They are all going for special forces.
