While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am packing up a storm, Will be in a haul headed north east a week from friday. Pray for good weather. Have lots of help.

I am downsizing from 3000sf to 1300sf.

I've seen only a handful of pics since my son has been gone. He went on a hiking adventure with one of his brothers this summer and I was able to see some posts on FB with him in pics. He was also in a college roommates wedding beginning of Oct. so a couple pics were posted of that also. Otherwise he doesn't offer any.

I'm really feeling the empty nest syndrome now that all the boys are out of the house. We too need to downsize. Our house is very large and it's just my husband & I now. I love the area so I'm hesitant about moving. Let me know how that goes for you Sierrascrapper.

Well, life is full of typical craziness for us. We just moved into a smaller place last week and I feel like we are in an episode of hoarders with boxes stacked up everywhere. It's hard to downsize, but it was time. Our son who is going to the local university is still living with us. Our condo is alright, it's just a shock to the system. Once we get settled, it will be better.

So let's see...my Nuke Sailor is doing well in A-school. I don't get to hear from him too often, but he does share photos of his adventures in SC so that helps a bit. He booked his flight home for Christmas already which makes this Momma happy! I can't wait to hug him again!

We survived this first birthday with the boys being apart. Took T1 to Steak and Shake for his birthday and sent 2 care packages to T2.

T1 is doing pretty good in his college courses. I don't know that he is trying his hardest, but he's doing pretty good. Good enough to keep his scholarships and that is all that matters. We are trying hard to help him get a job. He's getting more serious about it as he definitely wants his independence.

After PIR, I stepped back into management at my job. It's been a lot of hard work and I've been working 6 days a week. I miss having weekends and evenings off with my family. Boy was I spoiled with my last position. Oh well, yet another stage in life to face.

Hope you all are doing well. Would LOVE to hear updates from everyone.

Shesh...your son's job sounds fascinating. Certainly come here any time you want to talk about him. We are here for you. I hope he gets an opportunity to experience the sea at some time in his career too. Crossing my fingers he gets to come home for Christmas.

CO-twin...so happy that your Sailor is home with you! Love that pic! Enjoy your time with him and good luck on your move too. Big changes for both of us.

I have an IT in Norfolk on the USS Bainbridge. And the other twin in Goose Creek, S. Carolina in the Nuke pipeline, Last portion of training. He will be on a sub when he is finished with Prototype.

He went hunting last evening and shot an Elk!! he is packing it off the Mountain today.

Got the hunting out of the way now can enjoy the rest of leave.

His twin has asked that I open an on base bakery when he gets a duty station. He said, "Mom you will make a killing from sailors, and you can be with me." sweet boy.

Wow, moving across state. That sounds like a life changing event. Going back to school and all. Culinary school sounds like fun. Maybe you'll then become a chef in some fancy restaurant and meet some rich people ! Good luck to you.
