Disy...so glad you got a call. Eeek...I would be freaking out too. I'm trying to prepare myself for unexpected phone calls.

CO-twin and twinsailorsmom...good info on where to sit. I've been trying to watch a few live streams of PIR to get an idea of the best location to sit. I know I don't need to know yet...but I like knowing. LOL
How is Steve CO-twin? Hope all is well...every communication chance you get is treasured I'm sure.

Just booked the Navy Lodge! We will probably be flying then renting a car, but still undecided on that.
Cathy, didn't you book Navy Lodge too? I do plan on going to the meet & greet.
Twinsailorsmom, why sit upstairs? I did see a mom posted to sit upstairs so you have a better angle & can find your SR better. No, our boys are not in the same ship/div. I realized today that Darien, he left first, will actually be at bc for 10 Fridays. Poor guy! He arrived Aug. 7th, Jacob arrived Aug. 13th.
Co-twin, I don't blame you for ignoring everything else to fb with Steve! That is going to be wonderful to get to that point.
Well, my hubby & I are going to a concert tonight so I better get off here & get ready. Have a good evening ladies!

Sierrascrapper - praying for clear skies for you - living in SoCal for so long I know the air from those fires can be awful!

Way to give a mom a heart attack! Got a call at 3:15pm this afternoon and because so far she has been calling on Saturday I thought something had happened! They only got 10 minutes 'cos I guess the division is losing minutes off their calls but it was sooooooo good to hear her voice! Once I got over the IS EVERYTHING OKAY??? Scream I managed to get a lot of info! She's doing good! Yay! That's all I need to know! There was lots of other info about her leadership roles etc. but honestly I don't care - she could be cleaning toilets as far as I am concerned just need her to graduate boot camp with no injuries !!! Wish we could contact RTC and say "excuse me but we are all friends could we please PIR the same date!!!!!"

Hope Sam passed his exams!!!

Hey twinsailorsmom...how are your boys settling into Nuke A-school?
Comment by twinsailorsmom on August 28, 2013 at 2:44pm

doubletrouble - congrats on both boys PIRing at the same time!!  So much better!!!  Sit UPSTAIRS!!  and if this is your first time and you will be driving to PIR go to Sarge's Meet and Greet on Thursday night, take paper and pen for his tips on driving to PIR.  He saved us lots of time on Friday morning with his tips on driving to the base.  My boys are each others best friend so they wanted to be together.  Mine wanted to eat "real food" and get new "skivvies."  Are you boys in the same division?  That made things easy for us as well, I could always ask the one who called how the other one was doing.  AND you get 6 people (or 8) into PIR!!!  I would be happy to answer any questions you have.  I don't get on here much but I would love to answer any questions you have.

At this point, all we can do is pray for guidance for the world's leaders. Right now, it doesn't seem like there would be any good outcome if we get involved. Tensions are definitely high and all we can do is stick together and keep praying. Crazy how the news wants to focus on stuff that doesn't matter. Unfortunately, a good portion of our nation is full of lemmings that will follow whatever "trend" is popular instead of thinking for themselves.

Hope all of you are doing alright. No shaking last night...thankfully. Now if we can just get the air to clear from the Yosemite Rim Fire. It was so thick yesterday that you couldn't see the mountains, or downtown for that matter.
