Betsy, I'm thinking it will be harder on me than them too. But as long as they keep the communication going on between the two of them, I'll be fine. Thanks doubletrouble! We're gonna need it.

Yes, our submariner in Groton, CT got married in October. His fiancé went up there for a visit & they decided to just do it. They got married in a buddies backyard by the buddies girlfriend! Long story, but her family was giving her grief about it because of their religion, so she just did it & said get used to it! She then came home & lived with us until December, when they were all home for the other's wedding then she went back with him to Groton. The other twin, stationed in Norfolk, came home & married in December. His wife graduates from college in May & will then move up there with him. Both the girls are the ones they were dating since high school & went through bc with them & each have been on a deployment & the girls did so good! I think we've been blessed with wonderful daughters in law.
I think our submariner will not be reenlist after his 5 yrs. The other might, but we'll see.

doubletrouble: it is good to get a good update on your twins.

I did not realize they had both married.

One of mine seems more dependent on his twin than his twin. One has red hair and has that go get um personality. He did not adjust to Navy life very well and when his time is up on November he will be exiting the Navy. The other one is more of the follow the leader twin and has loved navy life. He  plans on re enlisting and I would not be surprised to see him stay in for a career. He loved the challenge of the Nuke program. His twin in an IT. The IT has been stationed out of Norfolk and the Nuke out of Pearl harbor. They do text a lot and Skype.

Welcome NavyMomofTwins! I have identical twin boys. They have been in for two & a half years. They left for boot camp 6 days apart so were there at the same time, but in different divisions. The only time they saw each other was on Sundays when they went to church! They did graduate together so we only had to make the trip from Texas once!
My boys were like your girls, they did everything together, school, football & their first jobs, the only thing that separated them were girlfriends. They did miss each other tremendously at boot camp, so seeing each other at church helped, otherwise they did very well. They too shared a room until about a year before they left & were never really apart for long periods.
Now, they are stationed about 8 hours apart & talk pretty much every night while gaming, which makes me happy. They hadn't seen each other since December 2013 until this past December when one got married. It was weird having one home on leave & not the other but you will get used to it.
Now they are both married & have advanced & doing good with Navy life. Good luck to your girls....and to you!

Mine went in, first one Nov 2012 the other April 2013. You are right Betsy, Inge first one coached the second one for prepping for BC. They did OK at first with being on their own. I think they liked having a break from each other even though they are close. This last year has been tough for both. They now are missing each other. Deployments have been staggered which has made a visit not possible.

My identical twin boys have now been in for about a year and a half and have done amazingly well being separated.  They shared a room their entire life and were rarely apart.  One left in September and then the other left in December.  It was interesting having just one at home without the other.  They talk to each other more than they talk to me.  The one who went first was able to give the next one lots of advice which really helped him excel in Boot Camp.  They are very far apart right now but before one was deployed they would often travel to rendezvous on weekends.  It's probably been hardest on me worrying about them.

Hi Everyone,

Mom of 17 yr old twin girls here. One ships in June, the other in August. Although they were separated once for about 4 days because of a school field trip, it will be interesting to see how they do going their separate ways in the Navy. Thank goodness for Skype. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to new Mom's and Dad's Sorry to say though that this is not as active as it was initially. Keep hoping it would get more active.

Update on my twin sailors. The past year they have seen each other more as both were on the east coast. I think they have been OK mostly with being apart which surprises me. They were rather inseparable growing up. One it turns out does not seem to be a good match to Military life. He is too independent so in hindsight makes sense to me. He will serve his 4 years and be done. His twin on the other hand is a great navy fit. He was the follow the leader twin and likes the order and routine of it. He plans so far to re-enlist then would like to go to the academy. Will be interesting to follow how they play out their lives.

Hey there twin Moms!  How is everyone doing?  How are your twins doing in the fleet or otherwise?

Things here in Nevada are pretty ordinary overall.  My Sailor is just about to finish A-school in a couple of weeks. The pressure is building, but he seems to have it under control and he says he is READY.  He's done pretty well through these past 6 months and we are so very proud of him!  We still don't know if he will get to come home on leave after A-school as he is part of a music ensemble on base that will be performing at a future Power School graduation the following week.  My heart will be broken if he won't be able to come home before he starts Power School in May, but he is in the Navy now and we just have to roll with whatever may be.

My college twin is doing well so far and likes his courses. He did well his first semester and seems to be holding his ground again this semester even while juggling working about 25-30 hrs a week at his first job that he got in November.  He works for a locally owned yarn company that has a LARGE customer base online.  He does a lot of picking and packing for them but also dabbles in video production as they do a lot of tutorial etc.  It's great that he gets to use some of his skills from what he learned in his Communications Academy in high school.  He is just about to buy his FIRST car in a couple of weeks.  We are all anxious, but it will be good for him as a step towards his independence.  He has been a good sport about riding his bike to work and to the bus station to the university.

As far as my personal life.  Still slugging away at my job.  I got transferred to another store which was not ideal, but I do happen to like my bosses as I worked with them before and my co-workers are cool too.  I just have to work a LOT harder than I did at my cushy position that I used to have. I still am desperately trying to find a new job so that I can get out of the grocery business, but for now, I'm just hanging in there and doing what I can.

They naturally can not have their phone at class. but if they are not in class or in the class study time they can call. Sometimes things get hard and stressful and they won't have the time. But they can. Mine tend to text or FB messege rather than call. That way my nuke can play his xbox and talk at the same time. LOL.

Great pic Sierra. Your nuke so handsome, the twin totally has the proffessor look to him. He will make a great teacher. How is the job going? I just unpacked my silhouette.
