Co-twin...he still hangs with his buddies, so it's OK. He'll be busy once school starts and he gets a job. We are just letting him have his space for now. He's been helping hold up his end of the chores etc. and behaving pretty normal. There's a lot less music around the house for sure.

Oh my Sierra... That breaks my heart about your twin at home wearing his brothers cloths and retreating to be alone. Sam just retreated to the living room and an Xbox. He had lots of friends here. Once he left it was shocking how quiet is is with no more teens around.

Welcome rnmom24! So glad you made it to our group! It is a difficult transition for us and our twin that is still at home. Twin 1 (the one at home) has pretty much rretreated to the computer room. He's been wearing his brother's clothes a lot since his brother left for BC. They argued with each other so much these last few years. It's strange not hearing it anymore. No more arguing over who had to load the dishwasher or take out the trash or wipe down the counter. Funny the things we miss now. Big hugs to you.

WooHo Sp g;ad about your letter. Sam got pink eye from the gun sight when shooting. So glad he is healthy so far, hope he can stay that way. Hope he gets to talk to you before BS. We went to Sarges the first time, It was OK, but didn't really meet anyone there. and he talked WAY too long. Seemed mostly geared to make you afraid to try to drive to PIR to sell his taxi. We had a rental car the second time. We did take a taxi to the PIR just to not have parking hassle. but probably would have been fine. We did figure out that to drive from the Navy Lodge to the base is really easy and short. The taxi rides took the scenic   route to justify the fair.

Sam had a lot of nukes in his div. also. They all went together to GC and are still fast friends. Sam made friends with the son of the CO at GC. His Dad was at PIR in his officers uniform.

Sam is busy studying for his Comps. He had a photogenic memory and so he studies by staring at the page till he can picture it in his mind, then at test time he can recall the text. That is smart. So instead of trying to remember the material you remember the text.

Got another letter yesterday!  It is so good to hear from him. He is doing well and said that he hasn't gotten sick yet. WHEW! Especially because he says that a lot of guys are sick and that Pink Eye is spreading like wildfire through their compartment.  I reminded him before he left of your advice Co-Twin of not touching his face and I reminded him in his letters too.  I hope he remembers.  He said they are washing and sanitizing their hands a LOT!  Another tip I read before he left was to make sure that DEPpers take vitamins before they go to BC.  I made him take a multi-vitamin for 30 days before he left.  I'm hoping that is part of why his resistance is so strong.  I sure would hate for him to miserable.  What am I worrying about, it's not like I can change anything. LOL

He also said that there are 7 Nukes in his division and 2 in his brother division.  I've met one of the Moms so far that is in his brother division, but none of them from his division. His RPOC is a female Nuke.  He sounds like he's doing really well and says that he helps the EPO and he is Co-Starboard Watch Leader and Co-Section Leader too.  His "official" job is Trash Duty.  LOL  He also says that he gets watch duty a LOT because he is meticulous about filling out the watch log.  Unfortunately, it seems he also gets to miss calls home because of it.  He didn't get to call home a couple weeks ago and his call last Saturday was only 6 minutes. And tonight, I saw that his division was making calls, but we got none :(  I sure hope he gets to make it up or that his division works really hard to earn another call as they all said that this was their last one until BS21.

It's so cute as he got all my first letters at once and tried to answer all of my questions from each one in his letter to me this week.  It made me so happy inside.  I sure can't wait to see him again!  It's hard missing him, but I'm holding up pretty well.  Been keeping busy too which is a good thing.

Hope you all are doing well and your Sailors are thriving! Would love to see everyone check in and let us know how their twins are doing.

CO-twin...you have almost made it to Sam's PowerSchool Grad!  WOOHOO!!!!!  I know you are so excited!

oh too bad about the 900 Div. glad he is OK with it. Gotta get those rules down. As Steve coached Sam, Make sure to be an excellent listner, keep your mouth shut head down and do EVERYTHING you are told EXACTLY as you are told. they do not want to stand out.
Sam was second tallest in his Div. Last row second from end.
Comment by Sierrascrapper (ETN2) on July 16, 2014 at 11:16pm

He said he just happened to be in a group where 5 other guys couldn't piss quick enough.  He emphasized that HE was NOT one of the 5.  LOL  Either way, somehow that caused him to miss the call for 900 division sailors.  He doesn't seem too down about it.  He said he was section leader for a day until he accidentally asked a recruit leader a question while at the galley.  Obviously a BIG NO NO, so he got fired for it and got his first IT.  He said he wasn't going to take it too harshly.  He also told me that he is one of the taller ones in his division so he will be in the back row or second from the back row on one of the outer edges.

Second FAVE line:  Just assume "and yelled at" follows the end of activities, makes my job easier.

My boys love their NWU's  Why did he not make the 900 div? because he is a nuke? My boys thought it was best Sam was not in it. They get a more though BC experience not being in it.

Glad he likes the food so far.

Hope you get a call really soon.

Got my first REAL letter today. Ah what a relief! I feel so much better now. He still has his sense of humor and I laughed and cried while reading the letter. He says he's eating well and thinks he'll get "fat". LOL He also told me why he didn't get in the 900 division and it turns out he had watch during calls home this past weekend so he didn't get to call.

My fave line...
We got our NWUs now and I must say...Damn! All of us dudes are looking pretty good.
